Be part of a team where: 

The Innovation Lifecycle Officer will report directly to the HQ’s Innovation Manager for day-to-day line management in close alignment with the Regional Director from Hub North for strategic direction at territorial level. The primary focus will be to orchestrate and build the innovation capacity within the EIT Urban Mobility ecosystem in the Nordics (Denmark, Estonia, Finland, Iceland, Latvia, Lithuania, Norway and Sweden). 

 

This will include the following tasks: 

 

Lead the EIT Urban Mobility ecosystem in identifying, developing and co-creating high-impact innovation activities aligned with EIT Urban Mobility’s strategic priorities. 

Oversee the full lifecycle of innovation projects, including strategic alignment, performance monitoring and assessment. 

Serve as the point of contact for innovation activities for the hub region, providing oversight of innovation activities within the designated geographic area. 

Increase the visibility of innovation results and solutions by representing EIT Urban Mobility at relevant regional and European events, conferences and workshops. 

Empower and support the Regional Innovation Scheme (RIS) urban mobility specialists in the region in animating and building innovation capacity.  

Support best practice exchange and pro-actively identify opportunities that accelerate innovation testing and adoption, ensuring European-wide scaling of supported mobility solutions.  

Support the hub in fostering strong connections and collaboration agreements with national and regional innovation programmes. 

Where relevant, engage with key European-level stakeholders and associations to align innovation priorities and contribute to strengthening EIT Urban Mobility’s strategic positioning and influence. 

What you will bring along the way: 

An ideal candidate will strive to generate positive environmental and social impact in line with EIT Urban Mobility’s mission.

Must-have:

Minimum of 3 years’ relevant professional experience, with a strong preference for candidates bringing 5 or more years in innovation management, R&I programmes, or ecosystem development, preferably in urban mobility, transport, sustainability or closely related sectors. 

Proven experience in supporting and managing the lifecycle of innovation or R&D projects, including performance monitoring, strategic assessment, and contribution to portfolio-level objectives. 

Solid understanding of urban transport and mobility systems, including the role of digitalisation and data-driven approaches in enabling innovative mobility solutions. 

Good knowledge of the European policy and initiative landscape relevant to urban mobility and innovation, including the European Commission’s Smart and Climate-Neutral Cities Mission, the EU Urban Mobility Framework, TEN-T, and Sustainable Urban Mobility Plans (SUMPs), and their implications for innovation deployment and scaling. 

Strong stakeholder management skills, with a proven track record of engaging and coordinating diverse actors such as cities, industry, startups, research organisations, and public authorities. 

Strong analytical skills to identify, shape, and assess high-impact innovation opportunities, including their scalability and European-wide impact. 

Ability to work independently and proactively in a matrix organisation, balancing day-to-day operational reporting to HQ with close alignment to hub-level priorities. 

Excellent communication and presentation skills, with experience representing an organisation at regional and European events, workshops, and conferences. 

Flexible, solution-oriented, and comfortable working in a dynamic, multi-stakeholder and multicultural environment. 

Willingness to travel regularly within the hub region and at European level. 

Written and spoken English (C1).

Nice-to-have:

Experience working within an EIT Knowledge and Innovation Community (KIC) or other European innovation networks. 

Familiarity with EU innovation and research funding instruments such as Horizon Europe, EIT calls, and related EU missions or partnerships. 

Hands-on experience supporting innovation testing, pilots, living labs, or demonstration projects, and facilitating their replication or scaling across regions. 

Working knowledge of additional European languages relevant to the Hub North region.
