Position Summary
Reporting to the Associate Director, IT Infrastructure, the Infrastructure Technical Analyst – Network Analyst I plays a critical role in ensuring the stability, performance, and security of the organization’s network infrastructure across main and offsite campuses.
By monitoring network activity, responding to incidents, and supporting day-to-day operations, this role helps maintain reliable connectivity that enables staff and students to work effectively. Working closely with senior technical staff, this position also provides an opportunity to build hands-on expertise in enterprise networking technologies while contributing to a high-performing IT environment.
In this role, you will support the ongoing operation and improvement of a complex, multi-site network environment. The position is responsible for monitoring network performance, responding to incidents, and assisting with the maintenance and enhancement of network infrastructure while working under the guidance of senior technical staff.
Some Key Responsibilities are:
Monitoring network performance and responding to incidents and alerts to ensure high availability and reliability
Performing basic network troubleshooting across switches, routers, firewalls (preferably Palo Alto), and wireless infrastructure
Supporting stable and secure Wi-Fi connectivity across campus locations
Assisting with network maintenance, upgrades, and implementation of approved changes
Supporting the deployment and integration of network hardware and infrastructure components
Maintaining accurate documentation, including configurations, diagrams, SOPs, and change logs, in alignment with change management standards
Supporting asset management and inventory tracking, including audits and reconciliation activities
Providing basic technical support to end users and escalating complex issues to Teir 2 or Teir 3 staff as required.
You will also collaborate with IT Services and Infrastructure teams, contribute to small to medium-sized initiatives, and participate in ongoing learning, training, and mentorship to build your networking expertise.
What You Bring (Qualifications)
Must-Have:
Diploma in Network/Computer Systems or related field
Minimum 1–3 years of hands-on networking or infrastructure support experience
Strong understanding of TCP/IP and basic network troubleshooting
Nice-to-Have:
CCNA or equivalent certification
Experience with Palo Alto firewalls
Exposure to enterprise Wi-Fi environments (e.g., Aruba)
Familiarity with network monitoring tools and documentation tools (e.g., Microsoft Visio)
Experience working within an ITIL or Change-managed environment
This role requires flexibility for shift changes, the ability to travel between locations, and the physical capability to perform demanding tasks, including lifting up to 50 pounds regularly and up to 100 pounds occasionally, as well as climbing, pushing, pulling, working at heights, and standing, reaching, or crouching for extended periods.
