Job Description
Infrastructure Operations Engineer
Content Guru is a leading global provider of enterprise cloud Customer Experience (CX) and contact centre solutions, and we are at the forefront of the Generative AI evolution.
As part of our continued global expansion, we’re excited to announce that we are looking for multiple Infrastructure Operations Engineers to join our newly opened Sydney office and support the continued delivery and operation of our global cloud platform.
What we are looking for…
We’re seeking technically capable and dependable Infrastructure Operations Engineers to support the operation of our large-scale, multi-tenant cloud platform.
You’ll be involved in a range of activities including infrastructure deployment, operational support, troubleshooting, and continuous improvement. Working as part of a wider global team, you will help ensure our platforms remain stable, secure, and performant.
This role would suit candidates with around 2–3 years’ experience in infrastructure, platform engineering, DevOps, or a related technical environment, who are looking to build on their experience within a structured and professional setting.
Location…
This role is based in our Sydney office. There may be occasional travel to data centres or other global offices as required.
Key responsibilities of the role…
Infrastructure Design & Deployment:
Support the design and implementation of scalable and resilient infrastructure solutions
Deploy and integrate systems into existing platforms in line with established standards
Support disaster recovery strategies and ensure systems are robust and reliable
Monitoring, Operations & Support:
Act as a point of contact for customer and system alerts, ensuring prompt and professional responses
Monitor platform performance, availability, and reliability across global environments
Follow defined processes for incident management, ticket handling, and escalation
Troubleshooting & Incident Resolution:
Diagnose and resolve technical issues using structured troubleshooting approaches
Provide 3rd line support and guidance to 1st and 2nd line teams
Ensure issues are resolved efficiently while maintaining service continuity
Continuous Improvement & Automation:
Support ongoing improvements to infrastructure reliability and operational processes
Assist in the implementation of automation to improve consistency and efficiency
Contribute to the adoption of new technologies in line with business needs
Security, Observability & Collaboration:
Support security initiatives through monitoring and adherence to best practices
Work closely with development and engineering teams to support deployments
Contribute to monitoring, alerting, and performance analysis activities
Shift, Travel and Working Hours:
Working hours are 09:00 – 17:30. After probation, there is a hybrid working model, requiring a minimum of 3 days in the office.
There are two types of shifts pattens:
Weekday overnights: Typically, engineers will complete around 6 - 8 weeks of overnights per year, spread across the year. The overnights run 20:30 - 05:00 on weekdays (finishing on Saturday morning). They are scheduled in 6-month blocks and typically 2-3 months in advance.
Weekend Shifts: Engineers also do around 6 weekend shifts a year on call, running 07:00 19:00 Saturday and Sunday.
There will occasionally be a requirement to attend datacentres to complete on site work (server installs/removals, disk swaps, etc).
As engineers will closely work with the global team which are primarily based out of the UK the shifts timings will be adapted with daylight savings accordingly.
There are comprehensive internal and external training programmes, offering industry-leading personal development. This includes a core training module encompassing all technologies employed within team, and provides various streams of expertise for further specialisation. Engineers will have opportunities to rotate to the UK, US and JP for specialised training.
About you…
Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related STEM subject (or equivalent experience)
Around 2–3 years’ experience in infrastructure, platform engineering, DevOps, SRE, or a related technical role
Strong understanding of infrastructure concepts, cloud platforms, and modern DevOps methodologies
Familiarity with infrastructure as code (IaC) and automation tools
Understanding of security principles and best practices
Experience with containerisation and orchestration technologies (e.g. Docker, Kubernetes) is desirable
Scripting and automation experience (e.g. Python, PowerShell) is advantageous
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with high attention to detail
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Ability to work effectively under pressure and follow established processes
