Infrastructure Engineer - Contract

We currently have an exciting opportunity for an Infrastructure Engineer to join our existing experienced team.

The Mission: You will build the "Foundational Layer" of a secure, high-assurance private cloud designed with SiXworks' private cloud principles and patterns. This role is responsible for the physical and logical installation and bring-up of the infrastructure that powers a new cloud environment.

This assignment includes a 6 month build phase, followed by 2 months of data migration working with Windows Server Administration.

What do we look for in an Infrastructure Engineer?

Key Responsibilities:

Fabric Underlay: Configure and harden Cisco Nexus Leaf/Spine architectures to support high-throughput, low-latency traffic.

Enterprise Storage: Initialize and present NetApp storage arrays, ensuring data-at-rest encryption is strictly enforced.

Infrastructure Virtualisation: Build and harden a Hyper-V cluster to host core services (AD/DNS/PKI).

VMware VCF Integration: Assist in the enablement and integration of a VMware private cloud environment

Hardware Security: Initialise and manage HSM/KMS appliances, leading the "Key Ceremonies" required for a high-assurance environment.

Physical Build: Execute professional rack-and-stack and secure cabling in accordance with high-physical-security standards (e.g. SCIDA).

Essential Experience:

Hands-on expertise with Cisco Nexus (or equivalent) and NetApp ONTAP (or equivalent).

Experience deploying Hyper-V in a high-availability, high-security configuration.

Experience with VMware Cloud Foundation (e.g. VCF 5+)

Familiarity with hardware-based cryptographic systems (HSM/KMS).

Experience with Windows Server 2022/2025
