Our client in the Information Technology and Services industry is looking for a Infra Migration_OpenShift Engineering Tech Lead to lead the design, planning, and execution of OpenShift architectures and migration strategies. This role focuses on designing robust, scalable, and secure OpenShift environments and defining comprehensive migration approaches for transitioning workloads and applications. Strong expertise in VMware and Pure Storage integration is essential to ensure seamless alignment with existing infrastructure and to support high availability, fault tolerance, and disaster recovery across environments.
• Design target OpenShift architecture including cluster topology, networking, and storage solutions.
• Define best practices for OpenShift cluster setup across multi-zone and multi-region deployments.
• Ensure architecture supports high availability, fault tolerance, and disaster recovery.
• Assess existing infrastructure, applications, and workloads to determine migration readiness.
• Develop detailed migration plans covering containerization, workload transfer, and data migration.
• Implement migration processes ensuring minimal downtime and business disruption.
• Identify and mitigate risks associated with migration activities.
• Design OpenShift solutions that integrate with VMware environments using vSphere, vCenter, and NSX.
• Configure and manage Pure Storage solutions such as FlashArray and FlashBlade for OpenShift workloads.
• Design and implement CI/CD pipelines aligned to OpenShift environments.
• Integrate DevOps workflows using OpenShift-native and third-party tools.
• Automate deployment, scaling, and monitoring processes.
• Implement security best practices including RBAC, network policies, and encryption.
• Conduct security assessments and ensure compliance with organizational standards.
• Collaborate with development, DevOps, and operations teams to align architecture and migration plans with business needs.
• Document architecture designs, migration strategies, workflows, and configurations.
• Provide technical guidance and training on OpenShift architecture and best practices.
• Strong experience designing and implementing OpenShift architectures and migration strategies.
• In-depth knowledge of Kubernetes, containerization, and orchestration.
• Expertise with VMware technologies including vSphere, vCenter, and NSX.
• Hands-on experience with Pure Storage solutions including FlashArray and FlashBlade.
• Strong understanding of networking concepts such as ingress, load balancing, DNS, and persistent storage provisioning.
• Experience with CI/CD tools such as Jenkins, GitHub, and ArgoCD and DevOps workflows.
• Strong understanding of scalability, high availability, and security principles in cloud-native environments.
• Proven experience migrating workloads and applications to OpenShift or similar platforms.
• Proficiency in scripting and automation using Bash, Python, Ansible, or Terraform.
• Excellent problem-solving, communication, and documentation skills.
• OpenShift certifications preferred.
• Experience with multi-cluster and hybrid cloud OpenShift deployments preferred.
• Familiarity with monitoring and logging tools such as oTel, Grafana, and Splunk preferred.
• Knowledge of OpenShift Operators and Helm charts preferred.
• Experience in large-scale migration projects preferred.
