Who are you?
You are an experienced Project Information Management (IM) Lead with a minimum of 10 years post-graduate experience looking for the next step.
The ideal candidate is self-motivated, driven, detail-oriented and capable of working both independently and as part of a team. In this impactful role, you will be providing structured IM leadership, guidance and support to our clients, whilst actively embedding and promoting the purpose, values, and vision of Turner & Townsend.
As Project IM Lead you will be involved in:
Establishing Project IM Strategy
• Leading the development and implementation of project IM strategies aligned to client objectives, regulatory requirements and industry best practice, with particular focus on Energy & Natural Resources projects.
• Defining IM requirements, governance, roles and accountabilities across project delivery, contractors and asset owners, ensuring clear ownership of documents, data and systems.
• Developing IM Plans, standards and frameworks to support consistent handling of project documents and data across the project and asset lifecycle.
Project Information Management Oversight
• Providing strategic oversight of project document control and data management, ensuring systems, processes and controls are fit‑for‑purpose and effectively applied.
• Ensuring integration and alignment of technical project information required for successful project delivery and asset information handover, e.g. engineering design and vendor data, construction records, HSEQ information, materials and equipment data, geospatial (GIS) information, and operational data requirements.
• Ensuring integration and alignment of project controls and management information required to govern and manage project delivery, including cost, schedule, risk and performance reporting data, to support effective project oversight, analytics and decision‑making.
• Providing assurance over project information, IM processes and enabling tools, to confirm data quality, control, compliance with requirements and readiness for handover to operations.
Digital Systems & Data Enablement
• Providing guidance on the selection, configuration and appropriate use of digital platforms supporting project IM, including Common Data Environment (CDE), document and data management tools, project controls systems, and data reporting solutions.
• Ensuring digital tools are aligned and integrated across the project lifecycle to support project delivery, performance reporting and downstream operational use, providing oversight of implementation to drive effective adoption.
• Working with digital and data specialists to ensure project information is fit for purpose and reliably enables management information, analytics and performance insights.
Handover & Asset Integration
• Leading engagement with Operations and Asset teams to define information requirements for project handover and asset readiness.
• Ensuring project documentation and data are complete, accurate and structured to support transition into asset operations and asset management systems.
• Overseeing handover and turnover processes to ensure information continuity from project delivery into operations.
Stakeholder Engagement
• Engaging with engineering, construction, commercial, HSSE, digital and operations stakeholders to align information requirements and ways of working.
• Leading discussions and targeted workshops to define, validate and improve IM strategies, systems, processes and standards, and overall information handover requirements.
Other Key Responsibilities
• Supporting the growth of Turner & Townsend’s Project IM capability, including developing best practice playbooks and internal knowledge assets.
• Contributing to opportunity and engagement tracking, as required, preparing presentations and other materials for client pitches, internal and external comms.  
• Inputting key information into the Turner & Townsend internal database tools, e.g. opportunity tracking, invoicing. Please note training will be provided on these.  
• Supporting junior IM specialists career growth, with coaching and line management opportunities if desired.  
Essential:
• Demonstrated experience leading or overseeing project IM on major oil & gas, energy or pipeline projects.
• Strong understanding of project document and data management across the full project lifecycle, including delivery / execution and handover to asset operations.
• Experience working with and overseeing document control, data and IM functions in complex, multi‑contractor environments.
• Sound understanding of digital tools supporting project document management and collaboration, such as SharePoint, Procore, Aconex or similar tools, including how these integrate with wider project information systems.
• Excellent analytical and written communication skills, enabling clear articulation of requirements, strategies, standards and processes through high‑quality documentation.
• Strong stakeholder engagement skills with experience working in multi‑disciplinary delivery environments, including collaboration with digital / data specialists, project controls, technical engineering and construction teams, in addition to Operations and Asset teams.
Desirable
• Professional qualifications in project management / information management, with awareness of relevant oil and gas standards for digital delivery, engineering data or asset handover (e.g. ISO 19650, CFIHOS, ISO 55000 etc).
• Knowledge of additional CDE / project document management and collaboration platforms (e.g. OpenText / Documentum, ACC Docs, InEight, Omega 365) in addition to project controls tools (e.g. EcoSys, Unifier).
• Knowledge of engineering data management platforms such as Hexagon and / or AVEVA solutions, GIS platforms and asset management systems.
• Understanding of business intelligence, reporting and analytics platforms (e.g. Power BI or equivalent), and experience in defining information architectures and high‑level data models that support systems and data integration.
• Experience coaching junior information management staff and contributing to broader capability development.
