Information Assurance Specialist – Contract
Location: Doncaster (2 days per week on-site)
Duration: Minimum 3 months
IR35: Outside IR35 (expected)
Clearance: Active SC required
Start: ASAP
Overview
We’re looking for an experienced Information Assurance (IA) Specialist to support assurance, compliance, and accreditation activity within a regulated environment. This role is hands-on, delivery-focused, and suited to someone comfortable operating on-site with stakeholders as well as independently driving assurance outcomes.
Requirements:
Key Responsibilities
• Deliver Information Assurance activities across systems and services in line with recognised frameworks
• Support security accreditation, risk assessments, and assurance documentation (e.g. RMADS, security cases)
• Provide IA guidance to technical and non-technical stakeholders
• Identify, assess, and manage information risk, ensuring proportionate controls
• Support audits, reviews, and compliance activity across the estate
Essential Experience
• Proven experience as an Information Assurance / Security Assurance Specialist
• Active SC clearance (mandatory)
• Strong knowledge of UK public sector or regulated environments
• Hands-on experience with risk management and assurance artefacts
• Familiarity with ISO 27001, NIST, and NCSC guidance
• Able to attend site in Doncaster 2 days per week
Nice to Have
• Previous contract experience
• Experience working alongside architecture, engineering, or GRC teams
