Job Description

Must Have Skills: Information Architect (Taxonomy/Metadata expertise)

Content management and taxonomy/metadata expertise.

Needs to have led projects around metadata and taxonomy design for internal and external websites.

UX, content management skills is good as well.

Defined and implement standards, processes, and/or governance for taxonomy development, maintenance of centralized vocabularies, and metadata management

Thorough knowledge and experience of taxonomy creation, including meta-data, content classification, controlled vocabularies, and content tagging

Created any sitemaps and UX designs for any internally or externally facing sites

Created taxonomies/metadata designs for any website projects

Taxonomy/metadata design project encompass

.perform an initial content audit

.conduct end user interviews to understand how content is used in your organization and what taxonomies are necessary to support effective search/findability

.evaluate any existing taxonomies that may exist in the organization, and create new taxonomies to support the needs of the business.

The art and science of organizing and labeling web sites, intranets, online communities, and software to support findability and usability.

The combination of organization, labeling, search and navigation systems within websites and intranets.
