As an Infant Development Consultant, you will support infants with, or at risk of, developmental delays or disabilities through home-based assessment, collaborative planning, and family-centered guidance that promotes healthy development and early learning.

Key Duties and Responsibilities:
Conducts interviews with clients and families to assess needs, outline available services, and make referrals to appropriate programs when necessary.
Helps families set developmental goals for their infants and creates support plans to achieve them.
Provides counseling and therapy sessions for families and infants, and guides parents in activities tailored to their infant’s needs.
Works with families to evaluate program effectiveness and client progress, resolving challenges and adjusting to meet established objectives.
Provide parenting skills training. Guides parents in skills specific to the needs of the infant.
Records home visits and ensure that parents and professionals involved with the family are sent bi-annual reports regarding the infant’s progress.
Maintains accurate and complete reports and records on clients and provides monthly reports.
Discusses case planning and concerns with therapists and, social workers, etc.
Connects families with additional resources, including parent groups, therapists, and community organizations, and supports smooth transitions to other services.
Acts as a liaison with community agencies, providing education and advocacy on issues related to the program. May be involved in fund raising or public relations events.
Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in a field related to child development
Certificate in Infant Development and Supported Child Development
Minimum of one year of experience working with infants, young children, and their families
Valid Class 5 BC driver’s licence and access to a reliable vehicle with appropriate liability insurance
Successful completion of the agency screening process, including a criminal record check

Hours: 12 hours per week
Rate of Pay: $38.68 per hour
