In 2020, G Mining Ventures (GMIN) was created to acquire direct ownership of projects and capitalize on the value uplift that successful mine development offers. In July 2024, GMIN has acquired the Oko West project. The Oko West Project is a new gold discovery in northwest Guyana. It is located south of the historical “Oko” gold district, some 95 km west of Georgetown.
To ensure the achievement of this large-scale project, G Mining Ventures is looking for an experienced and motivated individual to fill the position of:
Industrial Plumber
The Site Service Plumber is responsible for installing, maintaining, and repairing plumbing systems associated with water treatment plants, sewage treatment facilities, large-scale kitchen, water well and all Camps operations on Site. The role ensures safe, efficient water flow, waste disposal, and compliance with health and environmental standards
Key Responsibilities
Site Service plumber must be able to Install, inspect, and maintain pipelines, valves, pumps, and filtration systems, monitor water flow and pressure to ensure proper water treatment processes.
Repair leaks, blockages, and faulty components in treatment systems.
Asist in maintaining equipment such as tanks, softeners, and chlorination units.
Maintain and repair sewage pipelines, drainage systems, sludge systems, Inspect and troubleshoot blockages, overflows, and pump failures.
Ensure proper operation of wastewater treatment components, follow environmental and safety regulations for waste handling.
Install and maintain plumbing systems in industrial or commercial kitchens and all facilities on site (repair sinks, grease traps, dishwashing systems, and water supply lines, maintain hot and cold water systems for kitchen operations)
Understand the construction, operation, and maintenance of water wells and boreholes, inspect and maintain well components, including casing, pumps, submersible motors, and pipelines
Monitor water levels, flow rates, and quality to ensure safe and reliable supply
Assist in well rehabilitation, cleaning, and disinfection processes
Able to use plumbing tools and equipment safely and effectively
Respond to emergency plumbing issues quickly
Perform scheduled maintenance to reduce breakdowns and downtime
Keep accurate maintenance records and report completed work.
Diagnose faults in plumbing systems and identify root causes
Carry out timely repairs to minimize operational disruption
Respond promptly to emergency plumbing issues
Collaborate with maintenance teams, engineers, and supervisors.
Perform other related duties as assigned.
Installation of new plumbing systems and equipment.
Perform routine inspections and preventive maintenance.
Skilled in fusion welding of HDPE pipes, install, join, and repair HDPE pipelines for water supply, sewage.
Qualifications/Skills and Experience
The Site Service plumber is required to have a minimum of 3-5 years of relevant experience in industrial plumbing.
Minimum 3–5 years of experience in industrial plumbing.
Troubleshoot issues such as pump failure, low pressure, clogging, or contamination.
Able to Read and interpret blueprints, drawings, and technical manuals.
Work independently and as part of a team.
Interpersonal relationship skills and problem solving skills are required.
Working Conditions
Position based at the OKO Project site.
Work Schedule – 14 days on/7 days Off
Transport, accommodations, and meals provided on site.
