Balance design direction with production feasibility, cost, and scalability
Documentation & Production Development
Produce detailed design documentation, technical drawings, and specifications for manufacture
Ensure accuracy and completeness of design outputs for batch or mass production
Maintain alignment between design intent and production execution
Prototype Development
Oversee the development of prototypes and mock-ups to validate design concepts
Assess usability, performance, and manufacturability through iterative testing
Refine designs to meet quality and production standards
Project Coordination & Stakeholder Engagement
Collaborate with internal teams including product, sales, and leadership
Provide clear design direction to engineering and manufacturing partners
Present design proposals, progress updates, and outcomes to stakeholders
Design Translation & Commercial Application
Ensure seamless translation of concept designs into commercially viable products
Align design outcomes with market positioning and brand objectives
Contribute to design outcomes that support customer engagement, product adoption, and revenue-generating initiatives
Skills & Experience
Proven ability to design and develop industrial and commercial products from concept through to production
Demonstrated ability to originate design concepts from a blank brief and translate them into production-ready outcomes
Strong capability in both conceptual ideation and technical execution
Advanced proficiency in 3D CAD software (SolidWorks, Rhino, AutoCAD or similar)
Proficiency in rendering and visualisation tools (KeyShot, Adobe Creative Suite or equivalent)
Strong sketching and visual communication skills with the ability to rapidly convey ideas
In-depth understanding of materials, manufacturing processes, and production methods
Ability to integrate functional, aesthetic, and commercial considerations into design solutions
Strong collaboration and communication skills across multidisciplinary teams
Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree or higher in Industrial Design or Product Design
Minimum 4+ years of relevant full-time experience in industrial or product design, including end-to-end product development
Preferred: Master’s degree in Integrated Product Design or Service System Design
Multilingual capability preferred, particularly where supporting global collaboration and communication
Role Contribution
This role supports Bureau’s ability to design and deliver workspace solutions that are both functional and visually distinctive within a competitive global market.
