Job Purpose
To ensure accurate and timely execution of Counterparty Due Diligence (CDD) activities, including UBO identification, PEP and sanctions screening, and risk assessment of customers, vendors, and counterparties, in line with internal compliance policies and regulatory requirements.
Duties and Responsibilities
Working as part of the centralized Compliance / Global Support Services team, the main purpose is to conduct due diligence checks and maintain accurate compliance records within ISS systems.
Ensure CDD processes operate in a timely and accurate manner so that ISS meets internal compliance standards and regulatory obligations.
Perform UBO identification and verification based on available documentation and public sources.
Conduct PEP, sanctions, and adverse media screening using Dow Jones or equivalent screening tools.
Classify counterparties based on defined risk categories (Low / Medium / High) as per internal guidelines.
Escalate high-risk cases or potential compliance concerns to Line Manager / Compliance team for review and approval.
Maintain proper documentation and audit trails for all completed CDD cases.
Regularly monitor CDD trackers and ensure cases are processed within prescribed turnaround times (TAT).
Coordinate with Commercial, Finance, and Operations teams to obtain required supporting documents and clarifications.
Ensure adherence to internal policies including SOX controls, AML guidelines, and Anti-Bribery & Corruption standards.
Promptly address queries and service requests from internal stakeholders within designated KPIs.
Support smooth onboarding of new compliance tasks or system enhancements to avoid business disruption.
Assist in preparation of periodic compliance reports (weekly / monthly) as required by management.
Identify process gaps and suggest improvements to enhance efficiency and risk mitigation.
Open to handling ad-hoc compliance requests as per business requirements.
The post holder will carry out any other duties within the scope and purpose of the job as requested by the Line Manager and ensure full utilization of ISS systems according to Standard Operating Procedures.

Accountable for ensuring that an appropriate assessment of Health, Safety, Security and Environment (HSSE) risk is included as part of work planning.
Accountable for implementation and monitoring of actions to mitigate risk and enhance controls within area of responsibility to ensure the HSSE of both the job holder and other persons who may be affected by acts carried out or failed to be carried out by the job holder.
Ensure full compliance with and implementation of, the ISS HSSE Management System.
Ensure that appropriate resources are allocated to control HSSE risk.
Accountable for ensuring that clear, appropriate and timely communication channels are put in place to report and manage HSSE risk.
Knowledge
Proficient with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
Basic understanding of Shipping industry and shipping terms (would be added advantage)
