About Western Community College

Western Community College (WCC) is excited to announce that we have been selected as a provider for the Community Volunteer Income Tax Preparation (CVITP) program. Through this initiative, we will offer free tax filing support to students and low-income members of our community.

We are currently seeking experienced and motivated volunteers to help launch and support our CVITP tax clinics.

Position Summary

As a CVITP Volunteer, you will play a key role in establishing and delivering tax clinic services. This includes supporting tax preparation, assisting with program setup, and helping ensure a smooth and compliant launch aligned with Canada Revenue Agency (CRA) guidelines.

Key Responsibilities

Prepare and file income tax returns for eligible students and community members

Assist with setting up and launching CVITP tax clinics

Assist the organization in navigating the CVITP process and getting started

Provide guidance and support to ensure accurate and timely tax filings

Deliver services in a respectful, professional, and student-focused environment

Qualifications

Minimum of 2+ years of tax preparation experience

Strong understanding of Canadian income tax principles

Experience with or knowledge of the CVITP program is an asset

Ability to support program setup and provide operational guidance

Comfortable working with youth and post-secondary students

Strong communication and interpersonal skills

Additional Information

A second language is not required; all participants are able to read and write in English
