General Scope and Purpose of Position

 

We are currently looking for an experienced & passionate leader to join our team on a full-time basis as an Inclusive Education Lead. The Inclusive Education Lead shall be responsible for ensuring the effective implementation of program approaches like TEACCH and SPELL across all groups. This includes overseeing the consistency and quality of these methods, supporting practitioners, and providing coaching and feedback to promote professional development and improve service delivery.

 

Duties & responsibilities

 

Ensure a good quality service delivery; working towards and implementing best practice methods depending on the client group, including, but not limited to the TEACCH method and SPELL framework.

Work towards and implement best practice methods that meet NAS Accreditation and ISO certification standards where applicable.

Address parents’ concerns through appropriate methods of feedback, and to seek advice when necessary.

Provide support to Inclusive Education Practitioners during parent meetings, particularly in cases involving specific concerns or when additional guidance is needed, to ensure effective communication and collaboration with families.

Administer assessments to clients and the development of goals.

Prepare reports and participate in annual reviews for service users.

Develop sessions plans where applicable and ensure the dissemination of these documents to all relevant stakeholders.

Upkeep of the service users’ files whilst ensuring that any other forms such as student profiles, weekly and monthly planning sheets, data collection regarding service users’ performance, attendances, etc. are completed in a timely manner by the Inclusive Education Practitioners.

Monitor sessions as part of the ongoing evaluation of the service users’ progress.

Prepare equipment/materials/resources and the delivery of individual sessions where applicable.

Assist colleagues in the preparation for extra-curricular activities and make recommendations to limit any possible risks.

Adopt a collaborative approach with the guidance of other professionals working in different services offered by Inspire.

Attend school visits and maintain documentation regarding school visits, IEPs and MAPS sessions where and as needed.

Actively participate in all sessions carried out in different environments including the Multisensory Rooms, the pool, the Therapeutic Horseback Riding area amongst others.

Ensure the proper implementation of the program's approaches, including TEACCH and SPELL, within each group by monitoring practices, providing guidance, and supporting staff in maintaining fidelity to the approaches.

Provide training to Inclusive Education Practitioners, as needed, on the program's approaches, required documentation practices, and other essential procedures to ensure consistency and adherence to established standards.

Provide on-the-floor support to the team, particularly in situations involving challenging behaviours, by offering guidance, modelling effective strategies, and ensuring a consistent and proactive approach to behaviour management.

Assist the Team Leader with on-the-floor duties in Marsaskala, ensuring that the program's approaches are properly implemented and providing support to the team at the additional premises to maintain consistency and high standards across locations.

Step in to implement sessions as an Inclusive Education Practitioner within groups when there are absences of multiple staff members, ensuring continuity of support and maintaining the quality of the program's delivery.

Role Requirements

 

The ideal candidate must be in possession of the following:

 

A recognized ‘Qualification’ at minimum MQF Level 6 in Education, Psychology or in a relevant field.

Minimum 1 year experience with children with disabilities (ASD/challenging behavior).

High level of proficiency in English/Maltese language.

Prior to being recruited and throughout the duration of employment, the selected candidates need to satisfy the requirements of the Protection of Minors Act (POMA) together with those of immunization.
