Job Description & Summary

Responsibilities:

Job Description –Business Analyst (General Insurance | Data Modelling Focus) Location: Pan India Experience: 7–10+ years Employment Type: Full-time Joining: Immediate / Short Notice Preferred Role Overview We are seeking a seasoned Business Analyst with strong Data Modelling expertise to support large-scale General Insurance transformation and data modernization initiatives. This is a hybrid functional–data role, where the individual will act as a key bridge between business, Guidewire platforms, and enterprise data platforms. The role places significant emphasis on conceptual, logical, and analytical data modelling, alongside deep hands-on experience in Guidewire InsuranceSuite (PolicyCenter, ClaimCenter, BillingCenter). The candidate will work closely with business stakeholders, data engineers, architects, and delivery teams to translate insurance processes into robust Guidewire oriented high-quality, analytics-ready data models. Key Responsibilities Insurance Functional & Guidewire Analysis · Develop deep functional understanding of General Insurance operations, including: o Policy Lifecycle (Issuance, Renewals, Cancellations) o Claims Lifecycle (FNOL, Adjudication, Settlement, Recoveries) o Underwriting & Risk Assessment o Billing, Commissions & Distribution o Regulatory & Statutory Reporting · Lead requirement gathering and analysis for Guidewire implementations and enhancements. · Translate business requirements into functional specifications aligned to Guidewire capabilities. Data Modelling (Primary Focus Area) · Design and maintain Conceptual, Logical, and Analytical Data Models aligned to: o Guidewire source systems o Enterprise data lakes · Normalize and de-normalize data structures based on operational and analytical consumption patterns. · Define entities, relationships, hierarchies, and business semantics for insurance data domains. · Ensure models are consistent, scalable, and analytics-ready. Data Requirements & Mapping · Lead data requirement definition for: o Data Warehouses o Operational Data Stores (ODS) o Data Lakes / Lakehouse platforms · Produce high-quality deliverables including:

o Business Requirement Documents (BRDs) o Data Dictionaries & Business Glossaries o Source-to-Target Mappings (STTM) o Transformation Logic & Data Validation Rules o KPI–Dimension Matrices and ETL Strategy documents Guidewire Understanding and Collaboration · Collaborate with Guidewire developers to: o Design and configure data models with the new GW enhancements o Ensure Data solutions align with downstream data and reporting requirements. Data Analysis & Quality Assurance · Perform data profiling, reconciliation, and validation using SQL. · Work with data engineers to ensure: o Correct model implementation o Alignment with modelling standards Stakeholder Management & Collaboration · Act as a single point of coordination across: o Business users o Guidewire technical teams o Data engineering and analytics teams · Communicate complex functional and data concepts clearly to diverse stakeholders. · Support change management, training, and user adoption. Required Skills & Qualifications Core Skills · 7–10+ years of experience in Insurance Business Analysis, with strong exposure to data modelling and data-centric projects. · Minimum 2+ years of hands-on experience with Guidewire InsuranceSuite: o PolicyCenter o BillingCenter o ClaimCenter · Strong expertise in: o Conceptual & Logical Data Modelling o Normalization, de-normalization, dimensional modelling · Proven experience in: o Data requirement gathering o Mapping, transformation logic, and validation · Strong SQL skills for data analysis and reconciliation. · Solid understanding of: o Data Warehouse & ODS architectures o Data Lake / Lakehouse concepts · Experience working in Agile and Waterfall delivery models.
