The role
We are looking for experienced and motivated Import Declarant who are eager to work in a dynamic, international, and technology-driven environment. This role is essential for ensuring smooth and compliant customs operations while embracing the latest digital customs solutions.
Key Responsibilities:
• Creating shipping documents and import and transit declarations via ATLAS
• Calculating import duties and preparing monthly statements
• Cooperating with customs – submitting customs documents for review, applying for special customs duties for imports and other tax issues that arise, and cooperating independently in the event of customs irregularities
• Preparing all necessary customs declarations and formalities for imports and exports in accordance with the legal provisions of customs and tax law
• Preparing order instructions for the processing of import/export transactions and accompanying documents, as well as cooperating with other operational departments for this purpose
• Responding to customer inquiries and advising customers on operational customs matters
Job requirements:
· Completed commercial training as a wholesale and foreign trade clerk or as a freight forwarding and logistics services clerk, or a comparable qualification
· Solid professional experience in the field of import/export customs declarations and good knowledge of customs law and the associated procedures
• Professional experience in the field of freight forwarding and logistics is a prerequisite.
• Strong English language skills (minimum B2) as well as solid German language skills (minimum B1) are mandatory for this role
• Communication skills are one of your greatest strengths and you enjoy communicating with customers, service providers and partners.
• "The customer is king" – Of course, this also applies to us. Therefore, it is important that you have a good customer and service orientation.
• You are confident and experienced in using MS Office.
• We travel internationally, so good to very good English skills (written and spoken) are an important basis for this job.
