What will you be doing at DeepL?

As an Onboarding Manager, you will be responsible for getting customers live with DeepL products and services, for both new and existing clients. You will ensure that customers are quickly able to realise the benefits of DeepL products by leading them through a tailored implementation plan. You’ll manage complex projects, facilitate strategic customer conversations, and collaborate cross-functionally to set up customers for success. Additionally, you will help improve the onboarding process and experience, and work with key internal teams to enhance our systems.

This role sits within DeepL’s Professional Services and Customer organization, where internal mobility and development are actively supported. Team members have progressed across functions including Customer Support, Customer Success, Technical Success Management, and leadership roles. This position offers strong exposure to enterprise customers and cross-functional stakeholders, providing a foundation for broader career growth within DeepL’s customer organization.

Responsibilities

• Own the onboarding and implementation process for individual customers, setting them up for a successful long-term partnership

• Understand how these companies leverage different translation methods/tools and how our technology works cohesively with their tech stack

• Serve as the customer’s project manager during the onboarding process, working closely with key and/or executive-level stakeholders across the organisation

• Teach and empower new customers how to get the most value out of the DeepL platform

• Troubleshoot challenges that customers experience as they get the system set up

• Project manage new use cases for existing customers (new departments, markets, and/or platform integrations)

• Interface with internal DeepL teams, including Support, Engineering, and Product Management, in order to effectively integrate your customer with our software

• Keep projects on track: escalate issues that are blocking a successful launch; rally either your customer or internally at DeepL in order to deliver on time

• Become a subject matter expert on DeepL’s product capabilities and implementation process, and provide input into the implementation process for new product launches

Required Qualifications:

• 3+ years of work experience, with at least 1 year in client-facing software implementation, onboarding, customer success, or account management at a SaaS company

• This role requires fluency in Japanese and a working proficiency in English

• Proven experience project managing customer implementations, delivering on time and within agreed scope

• Ability to communicate effectively with both technical and non-technical stakeholders

• Demonstrated ability to maintain strong customer relationships by navigating ambiguous situations and resolving customer issues independently

• Strong written and verbal presentation skills in customer-facing environments

Preferred Qualifications:

• Skilled in creating and delivering customized presentations and demos in customer-facing environments

• Familiarity with technical concepts related to SaaS products

• Proven ability to collaborate with cross-functional teams across multiple time zones
