- Fixed term Contract (2-3 months).

Salary Range: £13.85 GBP/per hour

CPI acts as the Secretariat for the ClimateShot Investor Coalition (CLIC), an action-oriented group of investors working to rapidly scale finance for low-carbon, climate-resilient agriculture and food systems globally, in line with the Glasgow Breakthrough Agenda on Agriculture agreed at COP26. 

 

Position Summary 

CPI is recruiting an Impact Assessment Intern to support the implementation of climate and nature impact assessment work under the CLIC Agrifood Investment Connector.  

Reporting to the CLIC Analyst (Impact) and working closely with the Connector Manager, the Impact Intern will play a hands-on role in conducting research and analyses on climate and nature risk and impact assessments in the agri-food sector. 

 

Primary Duties and Responsibilities 

Conduct desktop research on existing agri-food system climate adaptation and resilience impact assessment tools and methodologies  

Conduct deep dive analyses on the areas of improvements and insights from past CLIC Connector impact assessment reports and outcomes. 

Contribute to the continuous improvement of CLIC impact methodologies, templates, and guidance based on implementation experience. 

Support internal knowledge management, documentation, and learning related to climate and nature impact assessment under the Connector.  

Support in taking the scaling climate and nature impact assessment for Agrifood investments work forward as and when needed. 

Qualifications & Experience 

Preferred: 

Bachelor's degree in environmental science, Agricultural Science, Economics, Engineering, Climate Science, or another relevant field. 

Professional experience (or strong academic training) in climate and/or environmental impact assessment, particularly related to agriculture or food systems. 

Practical understanding of GHG accounting concepts and emissions sources in agrifood systems (e.g. fertilizer use, soil emissions, energy use). 

Strong analytical skills, including quantitative analysis and data handling. 

Excellent written communication skills, with the ability to translate technical analysis into clear, accessible outputs for non-technical audiences. 

Strong organizational and time-management skills, with the ability to manage multiple assessments simultaneously. 

Ability to work collaboratively in an international, multidisciplinary team environment. 

Beneficial: 

Master’s degree in a relevant field. 

Experience working with agribusinesses, MSMEs, or agricultural value-chain actors in emerging and developing economies. 

Familiarity with tools, standards, or frameworks such as IPCC guidelines, GHG Protocol, lifecycle assessment, or nature-related metrics. 

Exposure to climate or nature finance, impact investing, or technical assistance programs. 

 

Competencies & Personal Attributes 

Strong attention to detail and commitment to analytical rigor. 

Ability to communicate complex concepts clearly and concisely. 

Proactive, adaptable, and comfortable working in a fast-paced environment. 

Strong collaboration and interpersonal skills. 

Advanced user of MS Office (especially Excel and PowerPoint).
