Job Description
Velotic™ is a leading independent industrial software company providing data‑driven solutions that improve manufacturing efficiency, productivity, and operational insight. Serving customers across manufacturing, oil & gas, utilities, and infrastructure, the company generates more than $300 million in revenue. Velotic’s portfolio, anchored by Proficy, Kepware, and ThingWorx, supports the growing data and performance requirements of industrial operators globally, with an emphasis on AI‑enabled manufacturing and industrial software.
We’re building our People Operations function from the ground up, and we’re looking for exceptional talent who want to shape the future of our culture, systems, and global operating model during one of the most exciting transformation moments in the industrial technology space.
We are hiring an Inside Sales Representative to serve as the front door for all inbound customer interest. This role is critical to ensuring fast, professional, and consultative engagement with prospective customers. You will assess customer needs at a high level and route each opportunity appropriately—whether that results in a transactional sale, a strategic sales engagement, or a technical conversation.
This position is ideal for someone who enjoys customer interaction, problem-solving, and working in a structured, fast-paced B2B sales environment.
Key Responsibilities
Inbound Channel Management
• Monitor and respond to all inbound demand sources, including:• Shared sales inboxes
• Demo downloads
• “Contact Us” and website inquiries
• Inbound meetings scheduled by Channel BDRs
• Interest generated through marketing campaigns, partners, or product usage
• Ensure all inbound inquiries receive timely, professional, and consistent responses in line with defined SLAs.
Initial Customer Engagement & Consultative Discovery
• Engage customers early in their buying journey using a friendly, consultative, and customer-focused approach.
• Conduct high-level qualification to understand:• Business need and use case
• Timeline and urgency
• Scale, size, and complexity
• Technical versus commercial requirements
• Provide introductory product context and guide customers toward the most appropriate solution path.
Opportunity Qualification & Routing
• Evaluate and categorize inbound interactions to determine whether they are:• Transactional opportunities
• Mid-tier opportunities
• Large or strategic opportunities
• Technically driven conversations
• Route opportunities efficiently to the correct sales or technical resource.
Transactional Deal Support
• Support customers with simple or transactional purchases when appropriate.
• Assist with navigation of purchasing processes for smaller-scale use cases.
• Maintain professionalism and alignment with Kepware and ThingWorx sales practices.
Collaboration & Handoff Excellence
• Partner closely with Direct Sellers to ensure:• Clean, organized handoffs
• Accurate qualification and notes
• Clear articulation of business needs and urgency
• Ensure a smooth, positive customer experience as opportunities transition between teams.
Sales Process, Tools & Discipline
• Maintain excellent CRM hygiene, including:• Logging all inbound interactions
• Capturing qualification details
• Documenting routing decisions
• Adhere to established inbound SLAs, qualification frameworks, and handoff criteria.
• Participate in onboarding, training, enablement sessions, and call reviews.
• Provide feedback on inbound lead quality, trends, and recurring customer questions to inform sales and marketing teams.
This role is open to newly graduated university candidates who are eager to begin a career in B2B sales and technology. We value curiosity, coachability, and strong communication skills just as highly as prior professional experience.
Required Qualifications:

• 0–2 years of customer-facing experience (sales, service, internships, co-op, or newly graduated)
• Strong verbal and written communication skills with a professional presence
• Ability to learn quickly, ask thoughtful questions, and simplify complex topics
• High curiosity, coachability, and a positive, growth-oriented mindset
• Comfort working in a fast-paced, metrics-driven sales environment
• Bachelor's degree or equivalent practical experience
