Purpose of Job
Working in the Design Support Shared Services Centre, the role is to support the business with highly engaging work to support the creative, especially, proposal teams in winning work.
This person needs to be able to demonstrate resilience and composure in fast-paced environment with a strong time management and organisational skills.
This person must be an effective communicator that can understand and interpret a brief to create visually engaging work. This person needs to have a keen eye for attention to detail and quality in everything they do.
In this role, you will be part of a blended cross-functional team and tackle all aspects of the design process, help to lead client engagements and guide other members of the design team. Moving from insights to ideas, you will creatively solve problems, threading design and business thinking together to deliver innovative and thoughtful solutions.
Role Description
• Work on projects from start to finish — working collaboratively across teams on ideation, asset creation and implementation.
• Overtime work will be required from time to time.
• Interpreting a client's brief using conceptual thinking.
• Identify needs or problems and be able to come up with solutions.
• The creation and design of proposals, thought leaderships and brochures amongst others.
• Comprehensive understanding and extensive working knowledge with Adobe Creative Suite especially InDesign.
• Good understanding of working with long-form documents and working with style guides and graph tools within Illustrator and InDesign.
• Receive briefs and ensure that there is full understanding of the requirements before proceeding. Interpret briefs into acceptable branded designs.
• Passionate about design and understand the latest innovations in design trends.
• Able to do competitor analysis from the design perspective to ensure your designs stay ahead of the curve.
• Excellent understanding of DTP and Repro knowledge is essential. Working with printing requirements and standards.
• Working with a corporate identity and becoming a brand custodian.
• Understanding of cost implications should a job be supplied incorrectly and sense of responsibility towards the client’s budget restrictions.
• Look for ways to develop new design within the guidelines, marketing and production opportunities.
• Manage multiple projects of varying complexities and meet deadlines.
• Work proactively under your own initiative and as part of the design team.
• Be accountable for daily duties allocated, and to ensure everything expected is executed correctly.
• At all times adhere to rules, procedures, policies, instructions and agreements.

and Attributes
Knowledge, skills and abilities
• A proven record of the following applications: Creative Suite specifically InDesign, Illustrator and Adobe Acrobat. An onsite practical test is required before employment is considered.
• Must be able to work and basic design skills in PowerPoint/Google Slides and Word/Google Docs
• Ability to accurately prepare files for both print and web and run the relevant pre-production checks.
• Able to work both independently, and collaboratively within a team.
• Strong communication skills – able to express themselves clearly and communicate proactively before any issues arise.
• Ability to adhere to internal processes, including following brand guidelines.
• Strong working knowledge of both digital and print marketing materials.
• Exceptional eye for detail and focus on quality.
• Apple Mac and PC literate.
