Job Description
At OakNorth, we're on a mission to empower ambitious businesses and the communities they serve. Since 2015, we've lent over $21 billion across the UK and US, helped create more than 58,000 new homes and 36,000 new jobs, and supported hundreds of thousands of personal savers — all while driving economic growth in the markets we serve.
As our technology landscape continues to scale, so does the importance of managing who has access to what, securely, efficiently, and with the right controls in place. We’re creating our first Identity & Access Management (IAM) role within IT Operations. This is a unique opportunity to build the foundations of IAM at OakNorth, shaping how access is provisioned across a fast-moving, AI-native organisation. You’ll work closely with all Tech teams, Cyber Security, and business teams to introduce structure, reduce risk, and enable teams to move quickly with confidence. This role is ideal for someone who wants to own a problem end-to-end.
The Role:
You’ll be responsible for establishing and operating IAM processes across the organisation.
• Own the lifecycle of user identities: onboarding, changes, and offboarding
• Manage access provisioning across all systems and applications
• Define and implement role-based access controls (RBAC) and least-privilege principles
• Partner with wider tech and business teams to improve access workflows and automation
• Support audit and compliance requirements (access reviews, certifications, reporting)
• Monitor and investigate access related risks
• Maintain documentation clear processes
• Contribute to the selection, implementation of tools
• Work with stakeholders to ensure the right balance between security and usability
Required:
• 7-10 Years of Experience in IT Operations, Security, or IAM related roles
• Understanding of identity lifecycle management and access control concepts
• Familiarity with provisioning, access requests, and joiner/mover/leaver processes
• Experience working with APIs for identity integration and automation
• Comfortable working across multiple systems and stakeholders
• Able to document processes clearly and communicate with both technical and non-technical teams
• Motivated to improve how things work
• Understanding of audit, compliance, or regulatory environments
