We are looking for an experienced IBM Power Server Engineer to join our team and support one of our key customers. The ideal candidate will be responsible for the design, deployment, administration, and optimization of enterprise infrastructure based on IBM Power Systems.
This role requires deep technical expertise in Power architecture, virtualization, and mission-critical environments to ensure high performance, availability, and reliability.
Requirements:
• Design and implement infrastructure solutions based on IBM Power Systems
• Install, configure, and manage IBM Power servers and related components
• Manage virtualization using PowerVM (LPARs, VIOS)
• Perform system upgrades, firmware updates, and patch management
• Monitor system performance and ensure high availability
• Manage storage integration (SAN, NPIV, vSCSI)
• Troubleshoot hardware and OS-level issues efficiently
• Collaborate with application and database teams for performance tuning
• Implement backup, disaster recovery, and business continuity solutions
• Maintain system documentation and operational procedures
Technical Skills & Requirements
• Strong hands-on experience with IBM Power Systems
• Experience with IBM PowerVM (LPAR, VIOS configuration and management)
• Solid experience with operating systems:
• AIX
• Linux on Power (RHEL/SLES)
• Knowledge of Hardware Management Console configuration and administration
• Experience with storage technologies (SAN, Fibre Channel, NPIV)
• Strong understanding of system performance tuning and capacity planning
• Familiarity with backup and recovery tools
• Experience with automation and scripting (Shell, Python)
• Knowledge of high availability solutions (PowerHA is a plus)
Preferred Qualifications
• IBM certifications in Power Systems or AIX
• Experience working in system integration or enterprise environments
• Strong analytical and troubleshooting skills
• Good communication and documentation skills
