We are seeking a qualified and experienced IBDP Psychology Teacher to deliver engaging, inquiry-based instruction aligned with the International Baccalaureate Diploma Programme. The role focuses on developing students’ critical thinking, research, and evaluative skills while fostering ethical awareness and international-mindedness in line with IB philosophy.
Requirements:
Key Responsibilities
• Plan and deliver IBDP Psychology lessons (SL & HL) in accordance with IB curriculum standards and assessment criteria.
• Guide students through Internal Assessments (IA), including experimental research design and ethical considerations.
• Prepare students for external examinations with a strong focus on evaluation, analysis, and application of psychological theories and studies.
• Implement inquiry-based, student-centered, and differentiated teaching strategies.
• Support students undertaking Extended Essays in Psychology and integrate Theory of Knowledge (TOK) connections.
• Design and administer formative and summative assessments, providing timely and constructive feedback.
• Maintain accurate academic records, progress reports, and documentation.
• Collaborate in curriculum planning, moderation, and IB professional learning communities.
• Communicate effectively with students, parents, and colleagues regarding academic progress and well-being.
• Participate in school activities, pastoral responsibilities, and ongoing professional development.
Qualifications & Experience
• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Psychology or a related discipline.
• Recognized teaching qualification (B.Ed, PGCE, or equivalent).
• Prior experience teaching IBDP Psychology preferred (2–3 years desirable).
• IB Category 1 and/or Category 2 training in Psychology is an advantage.
• Strong understanding of IB command terms, assessment objectives, and ethical guidelines.
• Excellent classroom management, communication, and organizational skills.
Skills & Competencies
• Strong conceptual knowledge of biological, cognitive, and sociocultural approaches in psychology.
• Ability to mentor and guide students in ethical, research-based inquiry.
• Effective differentiation strategies to support diverse learning needs.
• Proficiency with educational technology and digital assessment tools.
• Reflective teaching practice aligned with the IB Learner Profile.
