WHAT WE DO:

JATEC has been connecting communities for over 40 years. We have expertise in the installation of fiber optics, underground utilities for residential development, street lighting, and highway sign infrastructure across Canada.

JOB SUMMARY:

The Hydrovac Swamper reports to Hydrovac Operator to support the function and operation of Tornado Hydrovac for JATEC projects.

DUTIES & RESPONSIBLITIES:

Availability to work 5 - 6 days a week, 8 - 10 hours a day, depending on job requirements.

Assist hydrovac operator with hydrovacing underground utilities

Perform physically demanding construction labour work.

Working with Hand tools and power equipment

Able to work in various climatic conditions and work effectively

Strong sense of urgency and commitment to assigned work

Practice safe operating procedures and follows Company Policies and Standards

Other duties as assigned and required for JATEC’s operations and personal development

REQUIREMENTS:

Valid Class 5 driver’s license required.

Must have reliable vehicle.

Must be able to lift 75 lbs.

Must be willing to pass pre-access drug and alcohol screening for clients.

Be able to stand, kneel, crouch, bend and walk.

Outdoor Construction background or telecommunication experience is an asset

Experience as an Equipment operator for a mini excavator and skid steer an asset
