Position Overview
Four Inc. is seeking an Intern to support the Human Resources team with day-to-day HR operations and administrative functions. This role provides hands-on experience across multiple areas of HR, including recruiting, onboarding, employee engagement, and HR systems. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, eager to learn, and interested in developing a foundation in human resources within a fast-paced, collaborative environment.
This is a hybrid role: three in-office days per week at Four Inc.’s Herndon, VA headquarters and two remote days.
Essential Functions
Assist with recruitment activities, including job postings, resume screening, interview scheduling, and candidate communications
Support onboarding and offboarding processes, including documentation and system updates
Maintain and update employee records in HRIS and internal tracking systems
Assist with HR reporting and system and employee file audits
Support employee engagement initiatives, training coordination, and internal communications
Provide general administrative support to the HR team as needed
Participate in HR meetings, projects, and training sessions
Qualifications
Currently enrolled in or recently graduated from an accredited college or university (HR, Business Administration, Psychology, or related field preferred)
Strong written and verbal communication skills
Basic proficiency in Microsoft Office or Google Workspace
High attention to detail, strong organizational skills, and ability to handle sensitive information with discretion
Interest in human resources, recruiting, or people operations

Physical Requirements:
The work is generally sedentary and performed in an office or remote setting; however, some travel to government or partner sites may be required. The position may require:
Visual acuity to view computer screens, read documents, and perform data entry
Ability to sit or stand for extended periods
Manual dexterity sufficient to operate a keyboard, mouse, and other office equipment
Occasional lifting or carrying of equipment, boxes, or documents (typically under 40 lbs)
Ability to hear and speak clearly in virtual and in-person meetings
