Position Summary
This position is responsible for the day-to-day operations of Human Resources including: employee data management, recruitment, and performance management
Key Responsibilities
• Assist in the development and implementation/evaluation of HR strategies including policies, programs and procedures to address an organization’s human resources requirements
• Ensure compliance with the Employment Standards Act (British Columbia) and other applicable provincial and federal legislation
• Advise employees on the interpretation of human resources policies, compensation and benefit programs. Facilitates and communicates organizational policies and programs and ensures labor law and regulatory compliance.
• Serve as the primary point of contact for employee relations matters, including conflict resolution, investigations, performance management, and disciplinary processes. Conduct workplace investigations in accordance with company policy and applicable legislation. Coach and advise supervisors and managers on employee performance, engagement, and corrective actions.
• Plan and administer staffing, employee assistance, employment equity and affirmative action programs
• Manage programs and maintain human resources information and related records systems
• Conduct orientation sessions for new employees to help them acclimate to the company culture and policies
• Maintain accurate employee records and HRIS data
• Coordinate employee performance appraisal programs
• Provides internal support and partnership to business lines to deliver required human resources.
• Coordinates with HR support staff to process and maintain employment, attendance, and other records.
• Work closely with Talen Acquisition and Hiring Manager to identify the specific needs and requirements for open positions
• Extend job offers and facilitate the onboarding process for new hires
Supervision of Personnel
• This role will not be responsible for supervision/management of other people.
Qualifications
Required
• Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field from an accredited institution.
• 2+ years of progressive experience managing employee relations cases within a Human Resources function.
• Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively and build strong working relationships with employees and leaders at all organizational levels.
• High level of attention to detail with the ability to manage multiple competing priorities in a fast-paced environment while identifying and resolving discrepancies.
• Strong time management skills with the ability to meet deadlines and maintain accuracy under pressure.
• Continuous improvement mindset with the ability to analyze issues, document findings, and recommend practical, well-structured solutions.
• Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving capabilities.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and experience working with HRIS platforms such as UKG Pro or similar timekeeping and HR management systems
Preferred
• Professional fluency in Korean within a business environment.
• Experience supporting HR functions within a large-scale manufacturing environment (1,000+ employees).
Location
• The position is fully onsite role working in our Surrey, British Columbia facilities, but may require up to 10% travel to IEM facilities within British Columbia.
