About the Role
The HR Generalist, People supports the execution of People strategies and operations in Costa Rica while contributing to broader global initiatives across the US, Canada, and APAC.
This role acts as a key bridge between local execution and global consistency, ensuring a high-quality employee experience and strong operational execution. You will partner closely with the Associate Director, People to support day-to-day operations while helping scale People processes across regions.
What You’ll Do:
• Own end-to-end employee lifecycle processes in Costa Rica (onboarding, offboarding, employee data changes, documentation, payroll inputs).
• Maintain accurate employee data in HR systems (Paycom and internal trackers).
• Manage PTO, vacation tracking, and ensure compliance with local labor requirements.
• Coordinate benefits administration, vendor interactions, and employee communications.
• Serve as a primary point of contact for employee questions and policy guidance.
• Support global People processes across the US, Canada, and APAC, including onboarding workflows, promotions, compensation changes, and documentation.
• Partner with Global People Ops to ensure consistency in systems, reporting, and processes, while contributing to special projects and cross-regional initiatives.
• Maintain SOPs, trackers, and internal documentation across regions.
• Support reporting, audits, and cross-regional data needs.
• Support employee relations and performance processes through documentation, tracking, and follow-ups.
• Assist in preparing documentation for sensitive cases (disciplinary actions, investigations, exits).
• Partner with managers to reinforce People policies and best practices.
• Support employee engagement initiatives and internal communications.
• Gather employee feedback and help identify trends to improve the employee experience.
• Maintain reporting (headcount, attrition, PTO, onboarding tracking) and support People data analysis.
• Identify opportunities to improve processes and drive operational efficiency.
• Partner cross-functionally with Payroll, Finance, Legal, Talent Acquisition, and external vendors to ensure smooth execution of People processes.
What You Bring:
• You have 3-5+ years of experience in HR Operations, HR Generalist, or similar roles, with strong exposure to employee lifecycle processes and day-to-day People operations. Experience working across multiple countries or vendor-based environments is a plus.
• You are comfortable working with HR systems (Paycom preferred) and have strong Excel or Google Sheets skills.
• You bring strong attention to detail, the ability to manage multiple priorities, and confidence working in a fast-paced, global environment.
• You are a strong communicator with advanced English proficiency (B2+/C1) and can effectively partner with stakeholders across regions.
• You handle sensitive information with discretion and bring a proactive, problem-solving mindset.
• You have a Bachelor Degree in Psychology, Business Administration, Human Resources or related field (preferred).
