We deliver culturally responsive, accessible mental health services to children, youth, and families while providing system leadership and advocating to improve care in our community.
Position Summary:
Under the supervision of the Director, Human Resource Manager, the Human Resources Assistant will assist in supporting the administrative aspect of the HR function, including recruitment initiatives, special projects and including expanding HRIS functionality.
Qualifications & Experience:
Minimum 2-year college diploma
Bachelor’s Degree with the focus on HR is a strong asset
1-year Human Resources experience (including internships or co-op terms)
CHRP designation (or working towards) is a strong asset
Exceptional organization skills with strong attention to detail
A results-oriented mindset and ability to relate to people at all levels
A passion for internal customer service
Strong Microsoft Office skills and excellent social media knowledge ability to work independently.
Duties & Responsibilities:
Employee Records & HR Administration
Maintain accurate employee personnel files (digital and/or paper)
Update HRIS records for new hires, changes, and terminations
Track attendance, leave requests, and employment milestones
Generate basic HR reports and data summaries
Serve as a first point of contact for HR-related questions
Respond to routine employee inquiries professionally and discreetly
Assist with internal HR communications and announcements
Coordinate performance review cycles and documentation
Track training participation and professional development activities
Assist with learning management systems (if applicable)
Collect and submit payroll inputs (hours, changes, deductions)
Assist employees with payroll and pay-related inquiries
Support benefits enrollment and changes
Track benefit eligibility periods and deadlines
Onboarding & Offboarding
Supports end‑to‑end recruitment by posting jobs, screening candidates, coordinating interviews, preparing hiring documentation, and assisting with offers and pre‑employment requirements.
Prepare onboarding materials and employee files
Coordinate orientation sessions and first-day logistics
Collect and process employment forms (tax, benefits, policies)
Manage system access requests and badge/key coordination
Support exit processes, including documentation and asset return

Strong organizational and multitasking skills
Professional communication (written and verbal)
Attention to detail and accuracy
Discretion and confidentiality
Basic knowledge of employment standards and HR practices
Proficiency with Microsoft Office / HRIS systems
Requirements:
A valid driver’s license and access to a reliable vehicle

Criminal Record and Judicial Matters Check (CRJMC) Police Check
