Position Overview: Ellingson Plumbing, Heating, A/C & Electrical is seeking a motivated Human Resources Generalist to support our growing team of field and office employees. The HR Generalist plays an important role in talent acquisition, onboarding, employee engagement, workforce development, training coordination, and performance management processes.
This position also supports apprenticeship and workforce development initiatives to help grow the leadership and skills within the organization. This role partners with leadership to attract, develop, and engage employees while helping create a positive workplace culture across the organization.
Key Responsibilities
Talent Acquisition and Workforce Planning
Post job openings and manage applicant tracking system
Screen candidates and coordinate interviews
Prepare offer letters and support workforce planning
Coordinate job fairs and trade school partnerships
Onboarding & Employee Experience
Coordinate new hire onboarding and orientation
Support structured 30/60/90 day onboarding
Coordinate offboarding and exit interviews
Employee Engagement & Communication
Support employee engagement activities and company events
Assist with internal announcements and HR updates
Help address employee questions or concerns
Training & Workforce Development
Coordinate training programs and track certifications
Support apprenticeship program coordination
Assist with trade school partnerships and training grants
Performance & HR Support
Coordinate performance review process
Track performance improvement plans
Provide backup support for payroll and benefits questions
Qualifications
3–5 years of HR experience preferred (construction or trades experience a plus)
Bachelor’s degree in HR, Business, or related field preferred
Strong communication and organizational skills
Ability to work well with both field and office teams
Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Word, and Outlook
