HSE Supervisor / HSE Inspector

HSE Supervisor / Inspector supporting large-scale renewable energy projects (Wind, Solar, and BESS)

Ensure full compliance with HSE requirements by supervising site activities, promoting safe work practices, and supporting contractors in implementing effective Health, Safety & Environmental management systems.

Job Responsibilities:

• Monitor and supervise daily site activities to ensure compliance with HSE requirements;
• Enforce safe work practices and stop unsafe acts or conditions when necessary;
• Review and approve Risk Assessments and Method Statements (RAMS);
• Ensure proper implementation of permit-to-work, LOTO, working at height, lifting, and electrical safety procedures;
• Conduct site inspections, audits, and toolbox talks;
• Support contractors in closing HSE non-conformities and implementing corrective actions;
• Report and investigate incidents, near misses, and unsafe conditions;
• Act as the primary HSE point of contact between the client, contractors, and project management team.

 

Desired Experience and Skills:

• Proven experience as HSE Supervisor / HSE Inspector on Wind, Solar PV, and/or BESS projects;
• Minimum 3–5 years of on-site HSE experience in construction or industrial environments;
• Strong knowledge of HSE legislation, ISO 45001, ISO 14001, and client-specific HSE standards;
• Experience with permit-to-work systems, risk assessments, method statements (RAMS), and toolbox talks;
• Ability to conduct HSE inspections, audits, and incident investigations;
• Strong communication skills and ability to influence contractors and site teams;
• Fluency in both Romanian and English is mandatory; additional languages are an advantage;
• Relevant HSE certifications such as GWO / NEBOSH / IOSH, or equivalent are mandatory.
