Job Description

HR Systems Analyst
Elland, West Yorkshire (Hybrid working with 2/3 days per week in our office at Elland)
Full-time, 37.5 hours per week
Competitive Salary & Benefits

Marshalls plc is the UK’s leading hard landscaping, building and roofing products supplier and has supplied some of the most prestigious landmarks in the UK since the 1890s. We’ve held Superbrand status since 2010, and we’re a successful FTSE 250! Every step we take and every product we make, is geared towards making the world around us a better place to live.

Forget the corporate clichés because we’re not your typical rule-book HR department. We see ourselves as a dedicated support system, here to help our colleagues navigate their careers and reach their goals. We’re a passionate, collaborative team who value transparent communication and a culture of growth.

As our HR Systems Analyst, you’ll be the technical expert of our team. Reporting to our HR Operations Manager, you’ll help us continue to move away from manual processes and towards smart, data-driven decisions. You’re the person who makes sure our self-service systems work for our people, not the other way around!

So, what is the role?
You’ll join us as a technical specialist to take the lead as we evolve our HR technology. We’ll look to you to become the go-to expert for our HR and Payroll system, Access EVO (People XD), taking ownership of the system environment to ensure everything runs like clockwork. Whether you’re optimising the functionality, introducing new features or helping to shape our digital roadmap and automation initiatives, you’ll ensure our HR system enables colleagues and leaders to work more efficiently.

You’ll need the resilience and organisational skills to manage your own workload and the confidence to suggest better ways of doing things when you spot a bottleneck. You’ll be our primary link and main point of contact for our system provider (Access), driving our case load forward and ensuring technical issues are addressed quickly and to a high-standard conclusion while working closely with stakeholders across HR and IT to ensure our system remains healthy.

Using integrated data analytics functionality and other data transformation tools such as Power BI and Power Query, you‘ll help turn technical data into clear insights that enable our leaders to make the right calls. By maintaining a meticulous focus on data integrity and GDPR compliance, you’ll ensure our master data remains a single, trusted source of truth, in particular when information is transferred to and from other HR systems (Applicant Tracking System, Learning Management System, Intranet, etc).

What you’ll bring to the team

• A proven track record of configuring HR or Payroll systems and a solid understanding of how data is organised, stored and moved
• A natural perfectionist when it comes to data accuracy, with a logical and systematic approach to solving complex problems
• The ability to translate "system-speak" into plain English, sharing findings and solutions effectively with stakeholders at all levels
• A positive mindset that thrives in an environment where problem-solving is stimulating, and priorities can change at short notice

Desirable Extras

• Experience with Access People XD or Access EVO
• Advanced Excel skills, including Macros, Power Queries, and Mail Merging
• A background in statistical methodologies or data analysis
• Experience in technical training delivery or creating user guides

What’s in it for you?
This is a great opportunity to take the next step toward progressing in your career and joining our industry-leading company! New ideas are encouraged, and you’ll be rewarded with the opportunity to learn and grow. Alongside a competitive salary, we provide a package designed to support you:

• Hybrid working with 2/3 days a week at our office in Elland, but more if you like!
• 26 days holiday + bank holidays (equivalent in hours)
• Guaranteed Christmas holidays
• 5% matched pension scheme
• Health care cash plan – support with Dental, Optical, Prescription costs and many more!
• Family leave policies (Maternity, Paternity, and Adoption)
• Share purchase scheme
• Cycle to work scheme
• Colleague discount on Marshalls and Marley products
• Retailer discounts
• Life assurance
• And best of all, you get to work within a high-performing HR team that is genuinely ambitious about the future of our people and the success of the business!

Whoever you are and whatever your background, you’ll find a fair and supportive workplace. You’re unique and we want you to bring every part of who you are to work, every day. We’re committed to ensuring equal opportunities for everyone. To us, this is more than a legal, moral, or ethical necessity – it’s the right thing to do! We want our team to reflect the diverse nature of society and the communities we serve. Marshalls is a workplace where you’re valued for the contribution you make, and where you can grow and develop by being entirely yourself!
