You'll partner closely with leadership and finance while working independently most of the time. You'll also play a key role in building strong relationships across the team, making sure everyone feels supported and connected. Success looks like on-time payments, clean records, thoughtful team touchpoints, and events that strengthen connection. It's a great fit if you enjoy building simple systems that make people's workdays easier.
What You’ll Do
Run payroll and contractor payments end to end using HR and payment platforms such as Deel
Automate billing workflows, from invoicing and approvals to tracking costs and reconciliations
Maintain accurate HR records, contracts, and compliance documents with tight version control
Develop and maintain HR policies, employee guidelines, & compliance documentation to keep operations clear
Coordinate onboarding and offboarding with clear checklists, access management, and smooth handovers
Plan and deliver team events and virtual meetups, managing timelines, vendors, and budgets
Build relationships across the team through regular check-ins, pulse surveys, and follow-ups
Create and improve SOPs to streamline repetitive tasks and reduce manual effort
Partner with finance on timesheets, month-end reporting, and variance explanations
Manage time-off tracking, availability calendars, and an up-to-date org chart
Triage HR requests and questions, providing clear, timely, and friendly support
What We’re Looking For
2+ years of HR operations or generalist experience, ideally with remote and contractor-heavy teams
Working knowledge of HR and payroll tools such as Deel (strongly preferred), plus strong spreadsheets skills in Google Sheets or Excel
Sharp attention to detail and a quality mindset to prevent errors in payments and records
Clear, proactive communicator who keeps stakeholders informed and resolves issues quickly
Energetic self-starter with high motivation and comfort working 80% independently and 20% collaboratively
Process builder who documents SOPs and uses simple automations or no-code tools to improve flow
Experience planning team events or offsites, balancing engagement with practical budgets
High integrity, confidentiality, and empathy when handling sensitive information
Strong relationship-builder who genuinely enjoys connecting with team members and fostering a positive culture
Key Performance Metrics (KPIs)
High team member satisfaction scores from pulse surveys, check-ins, and event feedback
On-time, error-free payroll and contractor payments each cycle
Shorter invoice and billing cycle times through effective automation
Onboarding completed on schedule with all access, documents, and training in place
Timely response to HR queries and a clear audit trail across HR records

Remote-first role with stable UK hours and predictable rhythms
Immediate start opportunity with onboarding in mid-February
Autonomy to build practical HR processes with clear goals and support
International exposure working across a distributed, collaborative team
Room to grow in HR operations, culture initiatives, and people programs
Transparent expectations, regular feedback, and tools to deliver great work
