About the Role
IQGeo is seeking an HR Officer to deliver high-quality HR support across a growing team of software engineers and business professionals. This fixed-term role will cover key elements of the employee lifecycle, including recruitment support, onboarding, HR operations, payroll coordination, benefits, compliance, and local employee relations.
This is a hands-on HR role requiring professional judgement, strong stakeholder management, and the ability to apply HR knowledge to practical situations. The successful candidate will work closely with managers to resolve issues, improve people processes, and contribute to global HR initiatives.
While this is primarily an HR operations and advisory role, there will be opportunities to contribute to Talent Acquisition and Learning & Development activities, which are considered desirable “nice-to-have” elements.
This a hybrid role based out of our Cambridge office, offering a blend of office presence (2-3 days per week) and remote work.

Estimated Contract End Date: February 2027 (~10 months)
What You’ll Do
HR Operations & Employee Lifecycle:
Manage changes to employment status, benefits, and employee data, ensuring accuracy across HR and payroll systems
Maintain and update local HR policies, procedures, and documentation to ensure regulatory compliance
Oversee onboarding and offboarding processes for your location, ensuring a consistent and professional employee experience
Coordinate local payroll inputs and ensure accurate and timely processing in partnership with Finance and external providers
Employee Relations & Advisory Support:
Act as a first point of contact for employees and managers on HR queries, providing guidance consistent with policy, employment law, and good people practice
Support employee relations issues (e.g., absence, performance discussions, informal queries) and escalate complex matters to the HR Manager
Help identify and address themes or risks, escalating insights requiring further attention
Compliance, Data & Reporting:
Monitor local legislative and regulatory changes relevant to HR and advise on required updates or actions
Prepare HR reports and workforce metrics to support decision-making and global HR initiatives
Support internal and external audits related to HR, payroll, and compliance
Ensure HR documentation, data, and processes meet GDPR (or equivalent) and record-keeping standards
Collaboration & Cross-Functional Partnership:
Build effective working relationships with managers and colleagues across Finance, IT, Sales, Customer Service, Engineering, and other teams
Support global HR projects, harmonisation initiatives, and continuous improvement efforts
Recruitment & Talent Support (Nice-to-Have):
Assist hiring managers with recruitment activities, including refining job descriptions, screening candidates, and coordinating interviews
Support the recruitment workflow and candidate experience across multiple teams and locations
Contribute to onboarding programmes, ensuring new employees are effectively integrated
Learning & Development Support (Nice-to-Have):
Assist in coordinating learning programmes, workshops, and development activities
Support LMS administration and reporting, helping track completion rates and programme effectiveness
Contribute to creating learning content or materials for employee development initiatives
Encourage employee engagement with training and development opportunities
Other Responsibilities:
Perform additional HR duties as required to support the needs of the business or the HR Manager
What You’ll Bring
Essential Skills:
3–5 years of experience in HR operations, HR advising, or a similar HR role
Solid working knowledge of HR processes, payroll coordination, benefits, and local employment law fundamentals
Strong interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to influence and build trust
Proactive, solutions-focused, and comfortable working in a fast-paced environment
High attention to detail, accuracy, and professionalism when handling confidential information
Confident using HR systems, reporting tools, and MS Office applications.
Ability to manage multiple priorities and deliver to deadlines
Desirable “Nice-to-Have” Skills:
Experience supporting recruitment processes, candidate engagement, and onboarding
Exposure to Learning & Development programmes, LMS administration, or training coordination
Ability to support content creation for learning or development initiatives
Familiarity with technical/SaaS industry roles and recruitment practices
Education & Experience
Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related discipline (or equivalent experience)
CIPD Associate Level qualification (or progress toward it) desirable but not required
