Job Title: HR, Logistics Manager and Executive Team Support
Location: Whitehorse, Yukon
About the Role:
At Cobalt Construction, we don’t just build roads — we build the North. Proudly based in Whitehorse and 100% locally owned, we deliver complex heavy civil construction projects across Yukon and Northern BC.
We are seeking an experienced HR Manager to lead our Human Resources function while providing strategic logistics coordination and executive administrative support. Reporting directly to the President, this role works closely with Operations and our Travel & HR Administrator to support a large, dynamic workforce operating across multiple remote job sites.
This is a diverse leadership position ideal for someone who thrives in a fast-paced environment, enjoys both strategic and hands-on HR work, and wants to be part of a strong northern team.
Key Responsibilities:
Lead full-cycle Human Resources functions including recruitment, onboarding, employee relations, and offboarding
Develop and implement recruitment and retention strategies for remote and seasonal operations
Manage job postings and applicant platforms (Indeed, YuWIN, LinkedIn)
Screen resumes, conduct interviews, and support company-wide hiring decisions
Oversee employee onboarding packages and annual updates
Administer HRIS and collect employee documentation for payroll processing
Maintain company-wide labour statistics and workforce planning data
Conduct performance discussions, disciplinary processes, and terminations in compliance with Yukon legislation
Identify and coordinate training and professional development opportunities
Support strategic team building across multiple project sites
Build and maintain positive community relations; attend job fairs and industry events
Coordinate camp setups, workforce logistics, and resource allocation for remote sites
Create and manage company media materials (posters, flyers, recruitment materials)
Provide executive administrative support including calendar management, correspondence drafting, scheduling, and general office coordination
Qualifications & Requirements:
Minimum 3–5 years of progressive Human Resources experience, preferably in the private sector
Strong knowledge of Yukon Employment Standards, labour regulations, and workplace legislation
Experience supporting remote, construction, mining, or industrial workforces is a strong asset
Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook)
Strong organizational and workload prioritization skills
High attention to detail and ability to manage confidential information
Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
Solution-oriented mindset with strong critical thinking ability
Ability to work independently and collaboratively
Valid Class 5 Driver’s Licence
Legally entitled to work in Canada
