Quantum Space is redefining mobility and autonomy beyond Earth orbit. Our Ranger spacecraft deliver high delta-V and sustained on-orbit maneuverability, enabling missions across cislunar and geostationary space that were previously out of reach. We are building the vehicles, infrastructure, and operational expertise that connect and protect assets across the Earth–Moon system.
Who We’re Looking For
We are seeking an experienced HR Generalist to help build and scale our people function. This role is a key partner to the executive team and will operate across the full employee lifecycle, supporting both leadership and employees as the company grows.
This is a highly hands-on role for someone who can operate as both a strategic advisor and an operator, building processes from the ground up while serving as a trusted resource across the organization. You will work closely with leadership to shape people strategy, develop scalable processes, and ensure a high-performing, engaged team.
This is an on-site position at our Rockville, MD office.
Where You’ll Make an Impact
Act as a trusted advisor to the executive team on people strategy, organizational design, and team effectiveness
Provide guidance on performance management, employee development, and compensation decisions
Develop and implement HR policies and procedures to support a growing organization
Own and improve core HR processes including performance reviews, onboarding, and employee lifecycle management
Lead or support compensation and leveling initiatives, including salary benchmarking and calibration
Partner with leadership on workforce planning and organizational structure
Serve as a resource for employees and managers, addressing employee relations issues with sound judgment
Ensure compliance with federal and state employment laws and regulations
Identify and drive improvements to HR systems, processes, and overall employee experience
What It Takes
Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business, Psychology, or a related field (or equivalent experience)
5–7+ years of experience in HR generalist, HRBP, or similar roles
Experience working closely with senior leadership or executive teams
Strong foundation across core HR functions, including employee relations, compensation, performance management, and compliance
Ability to operate independently in a fast-paced, high-growth environment
Strong judgment, discretion, and ability to handle sensitive situations
Excellent interpersonal and communication skills with high emotional intelligence
Demonstrated ability to build processes and improve systems from the ground up
Strong organizational skills with attention to detail and follow-through
Nice-to-Have Experience
SHRM certification (SHRM-CP or SHRM-SCP) or equivalent (e.g., PHR, SPHR)
Experience in aerospace, defense, hardware, or high-growth startup environments
Familiarity with employment law and HR requirements for a multi-state employer
Experience supporting technical teams such as engineering or manufacturing
