Scott Electric is seeking a proactive and detail-oriented HR Generalist to join our Human Resources team. This individual will play a key role in supporting the organization across multiple HR functions, including recruitment, employee relations, performance management, training and development, benefits administration, compliance, and more. The ideal candidate thrives in a fast-paced environment, is highly organized, and maintains confidentiality and discretion when handling sensitive employee information.
Responsibilities:
Recruitment & Onboarding
Manage the full-cycle recruitment process: job postings, screening, interviewing, and selection
Coordinate and facilitate new hire orientation and onboarding programs
Employee Relations
Serve as a point of contact for employee questions and concerns
Assist in resolving employee relations issues promptly and professionally
Foster a positive and inclusive work environment
Performance Management
Support performance appraisal processes and provide guidance to managers
Assist in the development and execution of performance improvement plans
Training & Development
Identify training needs and coordinate development opportunities
Support succession planning and career development initiatives
Compliance & Record Keeping
Ensure compliance with labor laws and internal policies
Maintain accurate, confidential employee records and documentation
HR Projects & Initiatives
Contribute to ongoing HR projects that enhance employee engagement and process improvement
Collaborate cross-functionally with other departments to support organizational goals
Benefits Administration
Respond to employee questions about benefits, eligibility, and coverage
Assist with the annual open enrollment process and lead related employee sessions
Conduct benefits orientations for new hires and assist with enrollments
Leave of Absence Management
Provide guidance on leave policies, eligibility, and process
Manage documentation for various types of leave, including FMLA and ADA
Coordinate with departments to ensure staffing during absences
Support the return-to-work process, including necessary accommodations
Qualifications:
Experience with Applicant Tracking Systems (ATS) and HRIS platforms required
Strong verbal and written communication skills
Ability to build relationships and work collaboratively in a team environment
Empathetic, approachable, and employee-focused
Self-motivated and proactive in identifying and addressing issues
Education & Experience Preferred:
Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field
Minimum of 3 years of HR generalist or similar experience
Solid understanding of HR best practices and employment laws
Travel:
Must be able to travel up to 25% to company locations in PA, MD, OH, and WV

Compliance & Risk Mitigation: Ensures labor law compliance and proper documentation practices are followed at all sites—especially important in states with varying regulations.
Manager Support: Local supervisors and managers often need help navigating employee issues. This role provides coaching, guidance, and on-the-ground support.
Retention & Engagement: Supporting branch employees more closely shows investment in their experience and well-being, which boosts morale and reduces turnover.
Training & Onboarding: Ensures new hires at branches receive consistent onboarding, and that existing staff have access to training resources.
