Position Description:
The Human Resources & Accounting Specialist plays a key support role across both the Human Resources and Accounting functions at Taurus. This position is primarily responsible for supporting HR operations, employee lifecycle processes and compliance efforts, while also assisting the Accounting team with reporting, payroll-related coordination and accounting transactions as needed.
This role works closely with department leadership to ensure smooth day-to-day operations, accurate recordkeeping and effective communication across the organization.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Human Resources Responsibilities
Duties include, but are not limited to:
Support the full employee lifecycle, including recruiting, interviewing, onboarding, and offboarding
Serve as a liaison between management and employees to support communication, engagement and workplace concerns
Coordinate and administer employee benefit programs
Assist managers with human resources matters, including employee relations, performance issues, equal employment opportunity and workplace conduct
Support employee relations matters, including documentation, disciplinary processes and dispute resolution
Coordinate payroll-related processes to ensure accuracy and timeliness
Maintain employee records, training documentation and company property tracking
Assist with compliance efforts related to employment laws, policies and internal procedures
Organize and support company events, training, and HR initiatives
Accounting Support Responsibilities (this role supports accounting functions but is not a primary accounting position).
Duties include, but are not limited to:
Assist the Accounting team with reporting, audits and accounting-related transactions as needed
Support payroll reconciliation and help resolve payroll discrepancies in coordination with Accounting and Payroll providers
Assist with reviewing and processing employee expense reports
Support internal reporting, data tracking and documentation for financial and operational purposes
Collaborate with Accounting on interdepartmental reporting and special projects as assigned
Organizational Responsibilities:
Work with managers and employees in all departments
Interact with 3rd-party partners as needed
Qualification Requirements:

Minimum Qualifications:
Minimum of 5+ years of relevant experience or 8+ years of field experience
Bachelor’s degree or higher in the related field
Human Resource experience
Understanding of California employment laws
Understanding of OSHA and Compliance laws
Experience with HRIS platforms
Payroll processing experience
Detail-oriented, organized, ability to manage multiple tasks
Ability to excel in a self-directed work setting.
Ability to react to changing demands and deadlines
High sense of urgency with focus on maximizing efficiency and accuracy
Works well with teams
Ability to identify problems, collect data, confirm facts and execute solutions for corresponding problems
Ability to maintain confidentiality
Preferred Experience:
Experience supporting accounting or finance teams
Travel:
No regular travel is expected.
Computer Skills:
Proficient in Excel, Microsoft Word, Scanning and organizing documents
Safety and Housekeeping:
Adhere to the company’s safety and housekeeping standards and procedures.
Physical Demands: The physical demands describe what the employee will be exposed to during the performance of this duty.
Frequent standing, reaching and lifting
