A.I.S., Inc. (AIS) is a national scientific services firm supporting maritime activities requiring certification of compliance with environmental regulations as well as collecting data for use by Federal, State, Municipal, and other government agencies along the US coastline. We are looking for an experienced HR professional to join our growing organization.
Primary Function:
The Human Resources Generalist will provide administrative support to the HR department with a very active recruiting agenda and a wide variety of interesting assignments. The ideal candidate will also provide support to the payroll department during the processing of a bi-weekly payroll.
Duties/Responsibilities:
Assist with onboarding of new employees
Assist in the processing of work-related injuries claims, reporting claims, and maintaining related files
Manage benefit enrollment, changes, and terminations.
Establish and maintain employee records in ADP
Serve as COBRA Administrator
Participate in administrative meetings and attending other meetings as needed
Ensure corporate compliance with all relevant federal, state, and local employment laws and regulations
Participate in the preparation and processing of a biweekly ADP payroll
Perform other duties as required.
Compensation: Candidates will be paid an hourly rate to be negotiated, and total compensation will vary depending on candidates’ depth of experience. This is a full–time position. AIS benefits package includes health and dental insurance, vacation, sick and holiday benefits.
Minimum Qualifications:
Associate degree in human resources or business administration
0 -2 years of relevant experience
Minimum of two years’ experience with ADPs Workforce Now software
Proficiency with Microsoft Office 360 Suite
Familiarity with virtual meeting platforms i.e. TEAMS
General knowledge of HR best practices, employment law, legal, and compliance matters related to HR
Excellent communication, verbal, and written skills
Strong interpersonal skills; able to interact professionally with customers, and staff
Provide strict confidentiality when handling employee and company information
Possess a professional demeanor and be dependable
Strong problem solving and analytical skills
Preferred Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree preferred.
ADP payroll processing experience
Familiarity with E-verify process
