HR Coordinator
Entities: Believers Church | HUB 757 | Oak & Lily Academy
Status: Part-Time (up to 20 hours per week)
Reports to: Operations Director
Location: Primarily on-site with some flexibility
Position Summary
The HR Coordinator serves as the primary HR leader across three affiliated entities—Believers Church, HUB 757 (event venue), and Oak & Lily Academy (school). This role provides both strategic guidance and day-to-day operational support, ensuring compliance, consistency, and care in all people-related practices.
This position exists to strengthen our staff experience, support leadership, and ensure that our policies and practices reflect both legal best practices and our mission-driven culture.
What You’ll Be Responsible For
HR Operations & Compliance
Maintain and oversee HR policies, documentation, and employee records
Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws
Support hiring processes, onboarding, and offboarding
Partner with leadership to maintain consistent practices across all entities
Help steward and improve HR systems and workflows
Employee Relations & Leadership Support
Serve as a trusted, confidential resource for staff and leadership
Provide guidance on performance management, employee concerns, and workplace matters
Support leadership with documentation and best-practice recommendations
Help foster a healthy, mission-aligned staff culture
Benefits & Leave Administration
Assist employees with benefits enrollment and questions
Track and administer leave (including FMLA and other applicable policies)
Support payroll-related documentation in coordination with finance
Qualifications
5+ years of HR experience preferred
Strong working knowledge of employment law and HR best practices
Experience in nonprofit, education, church, or multi-entity environments preferred
Excellent communication, organization, and documentation skills
High degree of discretion and professionalism
Ability to operate both strategically and administratively
HR certification (SHRM-CP, PHR, etc.) is a plus but not required.
Personal Alignment
Because this role supports faith-based organizations, alignment with the Christian beliefs, mission, and values of Believers Church, HUB 757, and Oak & Lily Academy is required. The HR Coordinator must be able to thoughtfully apply HR principles within a ministry-centered environment.
Schedule & Expectations
Part-time position, not to exceed 20 hours per week
Flexible schedule within normal business hours
Some fluctuation in hours may occur based on seasonal needs
