As the HR Business Partner for Korea, you will oversee end-to-end HR and people operations, ensuring HR strategies, policies, and practices are aligned with Hoffman’s business objectives, local legal requirements, and our People & Culture (P&C) philosophy.
This role is part of the People & Culture (P&C) team and reports to both the HR Business Partner, Asia Pacific, and the General Manager of Korea. You will partner closely with the General Manager as a trusted advisor, providing sound HR counsel, data-driven insights, and practical solutions to enhance employee experience, engagement, and productivity. You will also collaborate with regional Operations and P&C teams across the Asia Pacific (AP) region.
Providing resources and infrastructure needed to:
Be open-minded and willing to learn the inner workings of a PR and digital agency
Understand Hoffman’s business objectives and the nature of its clients
Provides general guidance to other members of the Operatoin team in AP as needed and ensures that other team-members are cross-trained in all aspects of the office administration aspect.
To provide presentable office look: maintain HA style, attract potential candidates, presentable to client
Liaise with IT and accounting to maintain reasonably comfortable working environment to maintain high productivities
Enhance the firm’s intellectual capital by driving innovation, developing
Work closely with GM and HRBP Team to explore new products and services, and leveraging our global Ops team’s knowledge, insights and ideas
The Plot Thickens: Job Description
Strategic HR Planning:
Act as a trusted HR advisor to the Korea General Manager and leadership team, providing professional HR guidance aligned with Hoffman’s business strategy.
Develop and implement people strategies that support business growth, workforce planning, and organizational effectiveness.
Analyze HR metrics and trends to provide insights and recommendations to local and regional leadership.
Talent Acquisition and Management:
Partner closely with the Talent Acquisition team and hiring managers to identify workforce needs and deliver effective recruitment strategies.
Support the development and execution of regional talent management programs, including succession planning, leadership development, performance management, and learning initiatives.
Ensure a strong employer brand in Korea that attracts and retains top talent in the PR and digital agency landscape.
Employee Experience & Employee Relations:
Manage the full employee lifecycle, from onboarding to offboarding, ensuring a positive, consistent, and engaging employee experience.
Handle employee relations matters, including grievances and conflict resolution, in a fair, confidential, and compliant manner.
Drive employee engagement initiatives such as surveys, feedback mechanisms, and recognition programs.
Compensation and Benefits:
Oversee the implementation and administration of compensation and benefits programs in Korea, ensuring market competitiveness and internal equity.
Support performance review processes, salary structures, incentive programs, and employee benefits in partnership with regional P&C and external vendors.
Legal Compliance & Risk Management:
Ensure compliance with Korean labor laws, employment regulations, and internal policies.
Stay updated on legislative changes and proactively implement necessary updates to HR practices.
Partner with local consultants and advisors to manage employment-related legal matters and mitigate risks.
HR Metrics and Reporting:
Utilize and maintain global HR systems, ensuring data accuracy, confidentiality, and compliance with data privacy requirements.
Collect, analyze, and report HR metrics such as headcount, turnover, recruitment effectiveness, and engagement indicators to regional stakeholders.
Leadership and Team Management:
Provide guidance and support to HR and administrative resources in Korea.
Collaborate with the regional P&C and Operations teams to ensure cross-training, knowledge sharing, and operational continuity across AP.
The Hero’s Background: Qualifications
6-10 years experience in similar role, candidate with more relevant experience may be considered as Senior HR Manager
With “can do” attitude.
Fluent in spoken and written Korean and English
Be proactive to deal with changes as business evolves with time
Strong interpersonal and communication skills
Good planning and organizational skills
Professional appearance and manner
Experience in office management capacity
Ability to negotiate effectively
