Human Resource Business Partner (Atlanta or San Diego office)
About Geek+
Geek+ is a global leader in robotics and smart logistics solutions, specializing in Autonomous Mobile Robots (AMRs) for warehousing. Founded in 2015 and headquartered in Beijing, China, Geek+ serves Fortune 500 clients across retail, apparel, logistics, and more. The Americas region is one of the fastest-growing markets for logistics robotics, with offices in San Diego and Atlanta and over 100 employees.
Role Overview
As an HR Business Partner, you will serve as a strategic consultant and operational anchor for our North American team. You will be deeply embedded in the business, supporting everyone from high-level engineers to the deployment teams scaling our robotics solutions. This role requires a thorough understanding of traditional HR strategy, talent lifecycle management, and technical savviness to navigate a fast-paced robotics environment.
Key Responsibilities
1. Strategic Business Partnership
Act as a trusted advisor to department leads, aligning human capital strategies with Geekplus’s aggressive growth and deployment targets.
Identify organizational trends (turnover, engagement, headcount) and develop data-driven interventions to maintain a high-performing culture.
Bridge the gap between global corporate policies and local North American operations, ensuring cultural and legal alignment.
2. Talent Management & Lifecycle
Recruitment Strategy: Partner with hiring managers to refine Job Descriptions and manage the full-cycle recruitment process.
Onboarding/Offboarding: Own the end-to-end employee experience, from drafting complex severance agreements and SOPs to the physical deployment of hardware for new hires.
Immigration & Compliance: Manage F-1/H-1B visa documentation and tax exemption compliance for our international talent pool.
3. Operational & Technical Agility
Hardware & IT Liaison: Oversee the physical logistics of the employee experience, including the procurement and configuration of high-end ergonomic setups (e.g., standing desks, specialized seating) and basic IT troubleshooting for new deployments.
Workplace Optimization: Lead office layout strategies that prioritize focus and productivity, including the implementation of privacy-focused solutions and collaborative zones.
4. Employee Relations & Legal
Conduct internal investigations and resolve complex employee relations issues with a focus on empathy and legal compliance.
Maintain and update internal SOPs regarding compensation, benefits, and local/federal labor laws.
Qualifications & Skills
Language: Must be bilingual in Chinese and English
Location: Must reside within 30 miles of our Atlanta or San Diego office or be open to relocation
Experience: 5+ years of HR experience, ideally in an AMR, robotics, or high-growth hardware environment.
Education: Bachelor’s degree in HR, Business, or a related field (SHRM-CP/PHR certification is a strong plus).
Technical Proficiency: Comfortable navigating HRIS systems and collaborating with teams on hardware/network requirements for staff.
Strategic Thinking: Ability to see the "big picture" (wealth-building for employees, long-term scaling) while managing the day-to-day granular details.
Communication: High level verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to explain complex HR policy to technical staff.
