Job Description

Contract Type: 14 hours per week, fixed term until 31 December 2026, with the potential to extend, depending on funding.

We are open to discussing how the working hours are structured across the week.

Location: Hybrid (1 day per week in the London office), although remote working may be considered for the right candidate.

Reports to: Head of HR and Finance

Salary and Benefits: £28k, plus discretionary annual bonus, 36 days leave per annum (inclusive of bank holidays), a 6% employer pension contribution, the option to work from any location for up to 25 working days per year.

All salary and benefits will be pro-rated based on hours worked.

The Role

Future Advocacy is seeking a part-time HR and Finance Coordinator to support the smooth running of our growing organisation. The successful candidate will gain hands-on experience across HR and finance in a small, international team where their contribution will be visible and valued. By supporting our people and finances, they will play a direct role in enabling high-impact advocacy and campaigning work around the world.

This role could suit someone who is early in their HR or finance career and wants broad, practical exposure, or someone who is returning to work, balancing other commitments, or looking for a high-quality part-time role.

Responsibilities will include:

Finance

• Support budget tracking for client projects
• Generate client invoices on a monthly basis and follow up on any overdue payments
• Manage the internal expenses process, ensuring timely submission and processing of receipts
• Support the Head of HR and Finance with bookkeeping tasks
• Support the Head of HR and Finance with the monthly payroll process across our London, Brussels and Berlin offices
• Other finance administrative tasks as required

HR

• Coordinate recruitment administration, including posting job adverts, scheduling interviews and managing onboarding checklists (IT, equipment, logins)
• Maintain and update our team handbook
• Assist with policy updates and documentation
• Support HR compliance (e.g. GDPR, right to work checks, staff records)
• Provide additional day to day support as needed, including coordinating office logistics, arranging travel, organising away days and assisting with internal reporting.
• Uphold and reinforce our organisational culture, promoting our values and ways of working across the team.

We would love to hear from you if you meet the criteria below:

• Undergraduate degree or equivalent professional experience
• At least one year of work experience in HR and/or finance with a desire to work across both areas
• Ability to deliver work accurately in a fast-paced but supportive environment
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English (native level or equivalent)
• Tech savvy, with experience in using accounting software (e.g. Xero) and/or HR and ATS systems (e.g. CharlieHR, Workable), or a strong willingness to learn
• An excellent eye for detail and quality
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team
• Enthusiasm, flexibility, and ability to manage competing priorities, with a proactive approach to problem solving
• Willingness to undertake routine administrative tasks as part of the role
