This role is an entry-level role for a recent graduate to grow as a data scientist in a collaborative, fast-moving team. The role involves working alongside experienced data scientists and engineers to explore, analyze, and model data that drives real business decisions. This requires proficiency across both classical ML techniques and emerging AI paradigms — including large language models and agentic AI systems — to surface insights and contribute to meaningful solutions. Strong communication and the ability to work effectively across teams are as important as technical skill.

• Works collaboratively with cross-functional teams — including product, engineering, and business stakeholders — to understand problems and communicate findings clearly.
• Translates analytical results into clear, accessible visualizations and written summaries for both technical and non-technical audiences.
• Participates in the integration and evaluation of LLM-based and agentic AI workflows where applicable.
• Assists in developing monitoring and evaluation metrics to track model and solution performance in production.

Individuals who do well in this role at HP, usually possess:
• Bachelor's or Master's Degree in Mathematics, Statistics, Computer Science, Data Science, or a related discipline.
• Final-year students or recent graduates welcome; internship or project experience in data/ML is a plus but not required.
• Core Technical Skills: Python (essential), SQL, Statistical Modeling & Machine Learning, Data Analysis and Visualization (e.g., Tableau, matplotlib, Power BI), Predictive Modeling fundamentals, Large Language Models (LLMs) — familiarity with APIs and evaluation, Agentic AI — understanding of agent-based workflows and tool use, Generative AI concepts and responsible AI practices
• Cloud & Data Engineering Basics: Data pipelines and version control (Git)
• Experience/Knowledge in these areas are a plus: Natural Language Processing, Computer Vision and/or VLMs, Time series modelling and/or forecasting, Amazon Web Services or equivalent cloud platform, Big Data concepts (e.g., Apache Spark).
