Position Overview: The Housekeeping Supervisor reports to the Housekeeping Manager As a member of the leadership team, you will be training and coaching new staff, inspecting rooms, preparing room lists and assisting with scheduling. This is also a “working supervisor” position, so be prepared to pitch in as needed. Clear communication and good organizational skills will be key to your success as a supervisor.
What will I be doing?
Some of the key duties include:
Prepare and assign all room lists to Room Attendants when the Housekeeping Manager is not available.
Being a problem solver, coordinator, and communicator, making sure that everyone has the supplies they need and know their duties to be successful each day.
Check all rooms to ensure the quality of work is maintained and clear them for the Front Desk.
Assist with basic guest services and housekeeping duties:
include bed making, vacuuming, dusting, cleaning bathrooms and rooms, laundry and general light maintenance.
Ensure that all Occupational Health & Safety policies and training are followed.
Qualifications and Skills:
Grade 12 or equivalent
Experience as a housekeeping room attendant in a hotel setting
Experience supervising or leading a team.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Prioritization, Problem solving and time management skills.
Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Able to perform physically demanding work.
Working Conditions:
Able to lift and carry heavy objects.
Bending, stooping, standing, and walking for the entire day.
Repetitive movement
Working with cleaning chemicals
May be working with time pressures.
Some computer work required.
