About The Role - Te mahi
We are looking for a Housekeeping Supervisor to lead our team of room attendants and ensure we provide excellent customer service.
Housekeeping Supervisor responsibilities include organizing employee shifts, training and motivating team members and checking private and public areas for cleanliness.
Ultimately, you will help ensure our daily housekeeping operations run smoothly and that guests are satisfied.
This is a full time role of 30 hours per week minimum, based at Sudima Kaikōura. The pay rate for this role will be $27.00 per hour. Weekend availability is essential.
Responsibilities:
• Train and mentor room attendants on cleaning and maintenance tasks
• Oversee staff on a daily basis including allocating rooms and duties to the team
• Coordinate the housekeeping team to meet daily deadlines
• Check rooms and common areas, including stairways and lounge areas, for cleanliness.
• Ensures rooms are turned around as quickly and efficiently as possible
• Schedule shifts, rosters and arrange for replacements in cases of absence.
• Establish and educate staff on cleanliness, tidiness and hygiene standards.
• Uphold cleanliness standards, and conduct daily inspections for assigned rooms
• Motivate team members and resolve any issues or challenges that occur on the job.
• Respond to guest complaints and special requests.
• Monitor and replenish cleaning products stock.
• Ensure compliance with safety and sanitation policies in all areas.
• Assisting the room attendants when required.
• Suggest changes and improvements
• Work with the executive housekeeper and other heads of departments to maintain a high standard of appearance of rooms, public areas and back of house
Requirements:

• New Zealand Qualifications Framework (NZQF) Level 5 qualification OR at least two years of relevant work experience
• Hands-on experience with cleaning and maintenance tasks
• Excellent organizational and team management skills
• Stamina to handle the physical demands of the job
• A high level of organisation, time management and problem-solving skills
• We are looking for someone who is flexible with their availability – to be successful, you will need to be able to work a typical hospitality roster and that means covering all shifts across a 7-day rotating roster
