Housekeeping Laundry Aide – Seniors Living

If you were working with us as a Housekeeping and Laundry Aide, here are some of the things you would have done last week:

• Performed light cleaning duties in Residents’ households, including dusting furniture, mopping and vacuuming floors, cleaning wash basins, mirrors, showers, and tubs, and safely disposing of garbage from Residents’ rooms
• Cleaned public and high-traffic areas by mopping and vacuuming floors, dusting surfaces, washing windows, and emptying trash containers
• Completed cleaning of designated areas in line with established procedures, daily routines, and hygiene requirements for both morning and evening shifts
• Operated housekeeping and laundry equipment safely and effectively
• Provided efficient, courteous, and respectful service to Residents at all times
• Followed WHMIS legislation and safe handling procedures for all chemicals used within the department
• Worked cooperatively with other departments to support housekeeping and laundry operations
• Followed established routines and direction from the Executive Director.
• And supported your team as needed.

To be hired into this role, you must have:

• Ontario Secondary School Diploma or equivalent
• Experience in housekeeping and laundry (healthcare or hospitality setting an asset)
• Preferred experience in Seniors Living / Retirement
• Ability to operate commercial laundry and cleaning equipment (washer, dryer, auto-scrubber, vacuum, etc.)
• Vulnerable Sector Screening (VSS) check completed within the past 6 months
