We are looking for a person with an upbeat attitude, motivated, with strong organizational and interpersonal skills to join our team as the Housekeeper for our Wawahtewikumihk Group Home, in the community of La Ronge. About the position: Working 12-hour shifts, some Overtime may be required. This position is responsible for the provision of general house-keeping duties in the home. The main goal is to ensure that home meets health Safety Standards and Occupational Safety Standards.
Duties:
• Sweep and mop floor and damp mop the main entrance or other soiled areas as necessary;
• Clean and sanitize all washrooms, including sink, shower, tub, toilet, and door handles;
• Restock washroom faculties such as tissue, soaps, etc;
• Strips beds and wipe down, make beds using fresh linen, wash all bedding;
• Clean the snow and ice from all sidewalks, stairs, ramps, entrances, exits, and use salt (if necessary) to ensure safe and easy access to facilities;
• Keeping exiting hallways and exit doors free of clutter and flammable material (s);
Qualifications:
• Minimum Grade 10; Pervious Housekeeper experience is an asset;
• Certification in WHIMIS and First Aide & CPR is an asset (or willing to obtain);
• Willing to learn new skills and take further training as required;
• Must be able to work independently, self-directed and demonstrate organizational skills;
• Basic Computer Skills;
• Experience working with First Nations communities is an asset;
• Ability to speak/understand Cree and knowledge of the Cree Culture is an asset;
