Nama Sake is staying open! Unique opportunity to train under a Japanese veteran Sushi Chef at Chico’s premier sushi restaurant! This is an entry level position, but depending on your experience and aptitude, you will learn how to prepare authentic Japanese small plates including sauces and flavors.

Position Summary: The Line Cook at Nama Sake plays a vital role in executing the hot kitchen menu with consistency, speed, and care. From grilled dishes to tempura and rice-based specialties, you will support a seamless kitchen operation in collaboration with the sushi team. This role requires solid technical skills, attention to detail, and the ability to thrive in a fast-paced, high-standard environment. A foundational understanding of Japanese ingredients and cooking methods is preferred.
Duties and Responsibilities:
Prepare hot kitchen dishes such as tempura, grilled proteins, soups, and rice bowls to recipe specifications
Maintain station readiness with proper mise en place, organization, and cleanliness
Cook and plate dishes accurately and efficiently during busy service periods
Work closely with the sushi and BOH team to ensure timely ticket execution
Follow all food safety and sanitation procedures, including proper handling of cooked and raw items
Receive and properly store deliveries, rotating stock and minimizing waste
Assist with daily prep tasks, including cutting vegetables, making sauces, and portioning proteins
Contribute to a positive kitchen environment with clear communication and teamwork
Take direction well and remain flexible to help wherever needed during service
Physical Requirements:
This position cannot be performed remote, office setting is in the restaurant.
