POSITION SUMMARY:
The Clinical Social Worker at Freedom Behavioral Lake Charles is responsible for the effective operation and communication of the social services department. Serving as a key member of the multidisciplinary team, this role involves implementing and helping oversee social service interventions for patients. The Clinical Social Worker collaborates closely with medical staff, the Director of Nursing (DON), and nursing teams to ensure coordinated, high-quality care.
In this position, the Clinical Social Worker addresses patient concerns, advocates for their needs, and ensures that services and programming meet the highest standards of care. They interpret and uphold facility policies, ensuring consistent compliance across the department. The role requires a strong understanding of a broad range of cognitive, emotional, developmental, social, and behavioral disorders.
Additional responsibilities include providing crisis intervention, leading special case conferences, maintaining communication with families, and taking an active leadership role in treatment team processes. The Clinical Social Worker also supports performance improvement initiatives and participates in quality management activities. Upholding the highest ethical standards, they advocate for patient rights and coordinate with external agencies to ensure continuity of care and the fulfillment of each patient’s needs at Freedom Behavioral Lake Charles.
PREFERRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND/OR EXPIERENCE:
Education: Master’s in Social Work form an accredited school of social work
License: Licensed through the State by the Regulatory Body that is vested to bestow licensure to Social
Workers
Experience: One year experience performing duties as a Social Worker in a Behavioral Health setting
