POSITION SUMMARY:
The Clinical Social Worker plays a critical role in leading the effectiveness and communication within the social services department. As an integral member of the multidisciplinary team, this position supports and helps oversee social service interventions, ensuring patients receive comprehensive, high-quality care.
Working collaboratively with physicians, the Director of Nursing, nursing staff, and other clinical departments, the Clinical Social Worker helps coordinate care and address the unique needs of the patient population. They play a key role in identifying and resolving concerns, ensuring that services, programming, and social support systems are aligned to promote the best possible patient outcomes.
This role requires a strong understanding of facility policies and the ability to interpret and apply them consistently to maintain compliance and high standards of care. The Clinical Social Worker brings extensive knowledge of a wide range of cognitive, emotional, developmental, social, and behavioral disorders, allowing them to effectively support patients and guide treatment planning.
Additional responsibilities include providing crisis intervention, leading case conferences, maintaining communication with families, and actively participating in the treatment team process. The Clinical Social Worker also supports performance improvement initiatives within the department and contributes to quality management activities.
Committed to upholding the highest ethical standards, the Clinical Social Worker advocates for patient rights and ensures all care is delivered with respect, dignity, and professionalism. They also serve as a liaison to outside agencies, helping coordinate services and resources to ensure each patient’s needs are fully met during and after their care.
PREFERRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND/OR EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:
Education: Master’s in Social Work form an accredited school of social work
License: Licensed through the State by the Regulatory Body that is vested to bestow licensure to Social Workers
Experience: One year experience performing duties as a Social Worker in a Behavioral Health setting
